About Snow Light
Snow Light is a Visual Novel. Basically, it's a digital graphic novel where you can read while listening to BGM's and sound effects.
In a Visual Novel you won't shoot or kill your enemies. You'll read, listen and hopefully enjoy it.
This game takes place in a futuristic world where the nations are living in a fragile state of peace. Military conflicts have become commonplace, due to the rise of private armies as means to protect the now scarce natural resources.
You'll follow a professional spy, Snow Light, and will travel all over the globe to places such as Turkmenistan, Russia and England.

It is impossible to state how poor this game is, and that's not counting the excellent "translation". (Maybe it reads better in French or one of the other languages, but I somehow doubt the story is saner.) - As a visual novel, the game is a debacle. The story is an atrocious mess of jargon which is apparently a side-story to the creator's epic "Dragon and Weed" (This is not a joke, it explains this in a heavily abridged form in a submenu you can find) saga that you can bet your arse I'm never going to look up. There are maybe 4 "branch points" in the game. They do nothing. Save and click either option! Nothing changes at all. As a result, you're just here to watch whatever strange superpowered wankfest this is play out over a few hours, with the occasional break in the form of... - Quick-Time Events. No, seriously. Keep your hand on the keyboard and make sure you're familiar with french keyboard layouts, because that's what the keys are bound around. Earlier in the game there are more of these and then they just stop, like even the developer realized how dumb they were and didn't care enough to remove them. At least one failed to register for me until I restarted the game, so don…112 found this helpful

So I was fooling around with my Steam library, looking at the things I haven't played yet, and I came across this game. The last piece of news posted about it was an announcement from the developers saying they were gonna fix the English translation for the game from 2014. Bear that in mind. Lets forget the ridiculous price tag of €9.99 at the time of writing this review (since I'm pretty sure I got this in a humble bundle or something along those lines, so I'm reviewing this as a FREE game). The game is a visual novel. A badly translated visual novel. But lets even forget that, lets pretend that the spelling mistakes don't want to make me drink bleach after a while (and by a while, I mean around 6 minutes, cause that's how long it took me to give up on this "game". And the funny part? I had to open the game again and play for another minute or two so that Steam would let me write a review!). The illustration is absolutely appalling. And the animation? Take it from me, there's flash games on Newgrounds that give this thing a run for its money, and they didn't have to get through Steam Greenlight (though I suppose games like this are the reason that Greenlight had to be brought in)…6 found this helpful
QUICK-TIME EVENTS IN A VISUAL NOVEL WHY ARE THERE QUICK-TIME EVENTS IN A VISUAL NOVEL?! Other features: a lot of poor English (not broken English, just poor), an introduction that covers about a dozen acronyms and three dozen names/places/organisations in the span of five minutes, scenes that make you think "Why was this included", and the start involves shooting down a helicopter with a pistol. What I'm saying is that it's not a good game.1 found this helpful
Tags: Adventure - VN - Visual Novel Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Not as many issues in french. Grammar is mostly okay with a few mis-named intelligence agencies and whatnot. Not very credible, lasts way too long, the action oriented story does not fit well with the VN format. Mostly non interactive novel. Setup is that you are a charlie's angel working for UNATCO after the US got nuked five times, mostly relying on a cyber stealth suit to mop up after second rate dictators and lieutenants of a James Bond Vilain called whiteface or whatever. The game has cheap art, it is very slideshow, and recycles so much that often it saturates entire scenes with clones of the same sprite. The dialogue wants to be some kind of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy kind of mystery but it falls very flat, not helped by the uneven tone that varies from shooting people through QTE in a super sayian over the top manner, to getting told mundane stuff by military people, going to conferences, and generally just wasting your time. By the end you do not resolve anything and the game eschews a satisfying ending in favor for more open ended chance at a sequel. Removed for declutte…
