About Solitarius
This game is a singleplayer top-down wave shooter in 2D set in a sci-fi space environment where instead of surviving as long as possible, you actually have to make it through the levels.
Aliens are currently trying to invade our planet earth. It is up to you to stop them. Using your planets first ever created battle space ship you are about to show the invaders all your heavy weaponry. And they are not going to like it!
Fight against various alien enemies, collect items and reach the level portal in order to escape to the next level.
This free minigame contains six different levels each with a variation of different enemies. After surviving all waves, a portal will open and you can escape to the next level. At the end you will face a boss (sixth level) that you have to fight and defeat in order to win the campaign.
You have various weapons available where some of them unlock upon further level progression.

The controls are awful. You can't play it in 1900x1080, sadly. And the game simply crashes if you tab out. Kinda insane, for something released in 2022. At least the royalty free music in the main menu is great.2 found this helpful
"Solitarius" is more of a tech demo or a homework assignment than a real game, compared to the standards set for gaming in 2022 (Elden Ring, Total War: Warhammer III etc... and this, apparently) What do you do in the game? You're tasked with clearing six levels against waves of enemies, ultimately confronting a boss in each. The gameplay revolves around traversing levels using various weapons, some of which unlock as you progress. It's not implemented particularly well, the graphics suck, and of course for these reasons it was a complete and utter failure here on Steam. Check out the player count figures below. Or should I say "figure" (spoiler there). So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible.
