[h1]Relaxing Monster Catcher/Battler[/h1] [h2][u]Overview[/u][/h2] [i]Soul of Giga[/i] (SoG) is a simple monster collecting turn-based RPG. While it is on the short side, and also a bit easy, it may still be worth a look for anyone into the genre for its fun monster designs and fair asking price. It’s also rather impressive that the game was developed by just a single person and you can tell a lot of passion and love was put in the game which made it a more worthwhile experience for me to play through despite the more casual nature. The simple gameplay makes it fun to just wind-down to collect and battle monsters after a long day. [h2][u]Monsters[/u][/h2] As expected of a monster game, the monsters (called Gigas) are the main attraction. They range from small cute little guys to large kaiju-looking monsters. All Gigas are not created equal and some seem to be straight up superior to others. That said, even weaker Giga can keep up through an interesting system. Duplicate Gigas that’s are collected can stock up in the same monster slot. So, there are four monster slots. If a Giga is repeated, a whole group of them occupy the same slot. I really enjoyed the game but it's really grindy I also soft locked my game because it required a feast to progress and I had already grinded to max level :(

It's a nice, short game.

Soul of Giga is a fun but flawed monster tamer. The pixel art is rather charming, along with the monster designs. The different sections of the game were fun to progress through. There wasn't any grinding, with all of it being optional if you want to achieve 100% (like me). The game also ran well, with no lag or major glitches. There were a few problems I had. I found that the battles could get kind of repetitive. The game was also rather short, with the main campaign being completable in about 3 hours or so. While there were no major bugs, I did find that sometimes some of my inputs were not connecting. Despite its shortfalls, Soul of Giga is a fun little romp that even the most inexperienced of players can enjoy. I'd check it out if you like monster taming and want a shorter adventure. If you're someone that seeks challenging gameplay and riveting storytelling, then you might want to give this one a pass.

Short, simple monster catching game with great pixel graphics. Appropriately priced, took me about 4.5 hours to get 100% achievements. You do have to do some grinding if you want everything.

It can be a bit grindy esp near the end if you want to get 100% achievements with giga master. Otherwise I found it quite enjoyable esp once auto battle came into play. A lot of the monsters have neat designs & while the storyline is pretty short it was a fun cheap game to pick up for a change of pace from what I normally play!
