"Soul Rush" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Vantan Academy in Japan. Student projects might look better than amateur shovelware, but they aren't real games. This is just a glorified homework assignment. It lacks the depth and value you get from professionally developed product because it was made for a grade, not for players. Schools should stop using Steam to show off student work. It is fine for the school's marketing, but it clutters Steam... we have to sort through these short student demos to find real, full games. That's a kind of pollution. This is a case of an game dev college putting its own interests before the interests of gamers. The students made a fairly shallow endless runner that weakly copies the simple upgrade mechanisms from Vampire Survivors... leaving something that would make even mobile gamers bored. All you do in this is run down an endless road dodging rocks and killing enemies with your Vampire Survivors abilities. Yawn. There's no English translation for the game, but that's okay. Soul Rush is like if your spirit went on a rampage, collecting souls like a hoarder with a magical vacuum. You fight, level up, and zap enemies while looking cute and chaotic. It’s quick, fun, and free—what more could you want? Basically, run around and collect souls until you’re a ghostly powerhouse.
