Spire of Sorcery – Character Generator is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, Spire of Sorcery – Character Generator is a software application that is a demo/character generator for a game called "Spire of Sorcery"... which is pointless because you can't use the characters unless you buy the game. What a pointless waste of space on Steam. Of course this is intended to advertise that game, in the weird hopes that using a character generator will make people pay an eye watering THIRTY BUCKS for the trashware game this is advertising. Ugh. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them…

This character maker works well and I had an excellent time using it. Overall, this is a great idea that I wish more games would try.

Игра Spire of Sorcery – Character Generator - это приятный инструмент для создания персонажей. Особенно порадовала детализация и глубина проработки, позволяющая создать действительно уникального и интересного героя, а не просто шаблонного воина или мага. Разнообразие истории происхождения, черт характера и навыков впечатляет. Хоть и хотелось бы больше графических опций для визуальной кастомизации, функционал генерации интересных персонажей компенсирует это. Отличный старт для тех, кто планирует играть в настольные ролевые игры или нуждается в проработанном персонаже для написания историй! Легко научиться пользоваться и интуитивно понятный интерфейс - еще один плюс. Рекомендую!
