I played for a little over an hour and was certain that this game isn't for me. I wasn't enjoying the combat, the story, the acting, the writing, the graphics, or really anything about it. I like RPGs in general, and am not overly picky about graphics if the game is otherwise good, but this one didn't have the elements I look for in this genre. I tried to get a refund, but it had been longer than 2 weeks since I bought it, even though I played less than 2 hours. :-/1 found this helpful
A very Standart RPG, nothing special about it. The world building is interesting, the political intrigues can start well but the outcomes are a bit bland, the choices can be confusing and following the main story can be a challenge (since you get many and can lock if do the wrong one before), some side quests are really good, others are just a point A to B all the time. The fights are strange, some builds can be OP while others you suffer a lot to go. There is not a good amount of monsters availeable to fight, so you end with like 5 monsters during all the hours of gameplay. The stealth is a bit strange, and the gameplay is just lock and shot or use swords, the evasion can be hard against some enemies, but mostly is just basic and very repetitive, gets tiring after a time. I saw a lot of bugs, but nothing that would disrupt my gameplay, but cameras would focus on the ceiling, the floor, be locked behind a furniture and destroy some of the imersion, and talking about the imersion it was possible to see that some possible CGs were cut out, since it just makes a huge build up to a scene to have the result a talk with a NPC what was a boomer... If you want to pass the time,…
First, I never write reviews for games, ever. I play them, enjoy or not, and move on. If I do not like one, I typically just stop and don't think about it. This one was an exception, and thus needs a review. The story as a whole is A+, everything else is a D or F. To begin: the good, scroll down for the angry ranting. Story, customization, character building (A), Merchants (A with mods, F without), Graphics B Story is great, natives, other factions, all have infighting and conflicts with one another. People from the main continent are trying to stop a disease, lot of lore to dig into for most of the factions. 3 archetypes of builds that can meld with one another, levelling feels a little slow but good/powerful. Merchants have a 15%chance to have any part of their stock that rotates as time moves, I modded it to where they had their whole stock and felt better, did not have to go and keep walking to check (walking is a thing that will get talked alot about shortly). If the traversal was optimized/fast travel allowed anywhere this game would be a solid B/A. It is not. Graphics are fine for when it was made, some janky bits that are more funny than annoying. Companions(C) Companions…
About 50 hours of playtime for me including all the side quests (except for the professor notes). The story is well played out but somewhat predictable. The voice acting is fairly good except for the native strange accents (which grated on me a bit). The graphics are very nice but you can definitely see the reuse of assets and buildings. I turned down the music as it was just standard issue. Sound effects match well with the actions. Gameplay is fairly straight forward and combat is not too difficult. I must say that firearms and tossing potions are way overpowered. I enjoyed most of the game but towards the end it felt a little bit dragged out. There is a bit too much back and forth even with the help of fast travel. I didn't get the very best ending, but the second best as I couldn't get the coin faction to be friendly. Get it on sale or part of a bundle and enjoy a semi-open world full of intrigue and politics.
