Information / Review English
STAaRS falls into the horror-adventure genre, developed by AyfjayGames.
Gameplay / Story
In this game, we play an unknown volunteer who faces the challenge of an investigative situation to investigate unknown activity and uncover its origins. In the simulation, we find ourselves in a gloomy, old house, which we enter through a portal. Once there, we explore to get to the bottom of the activity. Four areas are at the forefront: reality, space, time, and anomalies. 22 unique, mysterious activities await us to investigate and uncover. Each test typically lasts around 30 minutes.
Pros
+ Adventure with a dark visual style + Mysterious activities to investigate and uncover + Dark/appropriate graphic style + Somber background music + Good controls + Free + Multiple languages available
Cons
- more variety would have been nice
Conclusion
STAaRS offers you a solid adventure that impresses with its dark visuals and activities. You are a new member of Stars, a special group that monitors weird occurrences. Before you begin working on real situations, you must first complete a virtual training program. This is where the whole game takes place. The task is to enter a training house via a portal and seek for anything out of order. Before you begin the test, you might want to view the house in its normal condition. This is available from the main control room. The game has 22 unique actions. Activities are unpredictable, so you never know what to expect, and they can fall into one of four categories: space, time, anomaly, or reality. If that was not enough, each category contains two or three subcategories. For example, time has activities in which objects move quicker, slower, or backward. Each category contains a brief explanation to make it easier to find them. The house has two floors with kitchen, bedroom, living room, and several other rooms. The graphics are not particularly impressive, but some areas have interesting elements that make them stand out. You can also pick up and throw smaller objects, including books and boxes. Gameplay loop is a bit different. Once you begin the test, you have 24 h…5 found this helpful
Good game while drinking your cuppa Short and fun Investigating glitches experiencing paranormal identifying extra object Void, gravity and space shift error in the building and Meeting creepy intruders https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de8RadQwLaA4 found this helpful
Super fun spooky game, I jumped a few times, and its an interesting way to do the anomaly type games that makes it really unique. Also I almost had a heart attack at the end, but ended up finding myself cracking up laughing, as well as some brains. 10/10
This is just my opinion, but I found the playfield too big and the amount of anomaly options to choose from too large.
