About Star Seeker in: the Secret of the Sorcerous Standoff
Good news: magic is real! Bad news: magic is highly illegal. Star Seeker is a wizard and you must solve a wizard crime or else get thrown in wizard jail by wizard- I mean, just regular police. In this short point 'n' click adventure, collect evidence and use it to clear up the useless detective's many confusions- and don't worry about getting it wrong. Every hare-brained idea you can possibly pitch to the detective prompts unique dialogue!

- A short, one-room point-and-click mystery dense with clues
- Unique responses for every combination of clue and question
- Customizable pronouns in the options
- Gorgeous pixelart and a magical original soundtrack (available from pastelhandgrenade on Bandcamp)
- There is a goat in it, and it goes "maaaaaa"
- If you don't think that last one is a selling point then I don't know what to tell you

The goat goes "maaaaaa". What else can I say?1 found this helpful
If you're looking for hidden gems on Steam, here's one! I tried it because it's short, taking me about two hours to finish. You play as a witch helping solve a case involving dead wizards. I like that you slowly develop your hypothesis; the crime you're solving is also original. It's well-written, although I either missed a story beat or the characters assumed I knew a piece of worldbuilding I couldn't have. Furthermore, it opts for silly jokes when it can't think up different dialogue; even lampshaded, that's an not endearing habit. All in all, I can see myself playing more of these. Clearly a lot of love and talent went into it; that they wrote dialogue for every possible hypothesis is mindblowing. I hope the devs are out there creating cool things.1 found this helpful
I want more. I am sad there was only one case.
I LOVE this game, and not just because Justin McElroy was in the ad! The humor is fun, the animation is delightful, and the whodunnit energy is strongly maintained! 10/10!
A simple little mystery game that doesn't overstay it's welcome. Great art, and no moon-logic!
This is just a genuinely fun time. This game is so so so well made! The artwork, writing, and gameplay are not just charming but also incredibly well done/thought out. It is obvious that a lot of love and hard work was put into making this project, and I can personally say it paid off. I could not recommend this enough!
