About Steel Fury: Kharkov 1942
Steel Fury: Kharkov 1942 is based on real-life events that took place from May 12 to 28, 1942. During a vicious German counterattack three Soviet Armies were surrounded and were forced to fighting in what has become known as the “meat grinder.” Through the monstrous roar of tanks and military vehicles, and the blaring sounds of war, players will experience bitterness at the loss of their comrades during battle and elation when they are victorious.
Historical Authenticity: Missions are based on true historical events recreated from archives and photo references, including the interiors and exteriors of vehicles and tactical markings.
The player has access to vast battlefields without obstructions from impenetrable forests or other obstacles, allowing them to choose any path available to achieve victory!
Fear and Fury Filled Missions: Throughout 30 playable missions in three unique single-player campaigns, experience large scale battles with numerous active vehicles.
Vehicles: Interact with and command all units involved in the advance against the enemy, including: more than 40 different realistically modelled vehicles, with three playable tanks: T-34/76 mod. 1941, Mk.II ‘Matilda’ III, and the Pz. IV Ausf. F2.
Take Full Control: In first and third person views, assume crew positions for Commander, Gunner, Loader, Driver and Hull Gunner.

1. The STEAM version of Steel Fury defaults to recognizing loc_eng in the data folder, but the game itself can only generate loc_rus by default. Therefore, it cannot launch. You need to manually rename loc_rus to loc_eng in the data\k42\ folder. 2. JSGME.exe (the mod manager) only modifies loc_rus according to the game's defaults, so mods will never work successfully because the game only reads loc_eng. 3. To make modifications work successfully, first copy the clean loc_rus file as a clean backup, and rename it to loc_eng as needed to restore a clean game. Then, every time you change mods, you must copy the loc_rus file that has been modified by JSGME and rename it to loc_eng so the game can read it. This way the modifications will work successfully. 4.Remember to additionally use 4gp_patch.exe to patch the game's start.exe and bin\rel\shell.exe files. only once time,8 found this helpful

Despite it's age this is a goto. Couldn't get my old version to run on win10 so snapped this up in the sale & it runs like a dream. Using JCM mod can't get much better.2 found this helpful

Before judging the game since it can't function on modern computers vanilla, check the community posts and there are many guides to get this absolute work of art to work as it should. It takes ~1-2 hours depending on how well-versed you are in modding and editing files After you are finished with that you are left with a very underrated game that has plenty of content, nearly 10x as much when you mod it compared to a vanilla install. 9.5/10 gem alert
