Steno Arcade

Needs practice mode. A lot of words cut off and the timing is hard. Should be able to get credit if you wrote the correct words. Steno is to make a record, not to type instantaneous to the beat and singing. Give a couple second delay so we can at least hear the words! Until it's updated I will not be recommending

Steno arcade is a fantastic resource, not just for learners, but anyone who's already learned steno and wants to build speed. It's only one game right now, Steno Hero, which is a rhythm game where you try to stroke the song's lyrics as they pass a judgment line. The gameplay sort of like a mix of playing beatmania and singing karaoke. It has a number of included songs, which are not really my style, but they are pretty good either way. In my opinion, the real meat of this game is in the fact that it supports the addition of custom charts, so you can chart your own songs and put them in the game. The tool is called wavelyric, and it's intuitive and easy to learn, so I highly recommend anyone who got sick of the included songs to learn to chart their own. It's a great way to do some steno drills while jamming to music that you enjoy -- and already know the lyrics to. It's not perfect in my opinion, however- I think there is some merit to the reviews complaining it's really meant for people who are already moderately proficient.
