About Study Arcade
When you open Study Arcade, you're presented with an extremely simple interface to set a timer and get going. Hit Start, leave it open in the background, and get to work. It'll alert you automatically when it's time to take a break.Come back after studying, hit Play, and it'll give you a list of arcade minigame for you to play, giving you a break when you need one! I've made 3 minigames so far, from block-breaking to retro shooter (okay, there may or may not be a 4th bonus game). Crucially, though, it only lets you play after you've already been productive, and all of the games are designed to give you a quick brain break and then help you get back to work. Study more to get a chance to play all of them and try to beat the highscore. Escape the doomscrolling, get stuff done, and most importantly, have fun while doing it. Simple as that! The Pomodoro Technique (25 minutes of intense focus followed by 5 minutes of rest) is extremely helpful for more productive studying and working, but let's be honest, we all get distracted pretty easily. My attempts to use the technique looked something like this: set a timer, timer goes off, start scrolling social media or playing a game designed to keep me on for as long as possible, get distracted, and never get back to work. The problem is that most entertainment is designed to monetize your time, the most important resource you have! This free tool helps you solve that problem. It's what I wish I had when I was in school (especially during college), and so I'm putting it out there for free.

"Study Arcade" is pretty bad, at face value it's a collection of (potentially copyright infringing) ripoffs of classical arcade games like Space Invaders/Galaga, Pong/Breakout and so on. The gimmick is that you're supposed to do some studying then it will let you play the game for a little while then you have to go back to studying. How about I take a break and go play a real game like Battlefield 6 or something and leave the arcade crap here in the Steam dumpster? Basically this is a bad idea implemented badly, and while we appreciate the intention to help students do better, I don't think this is the right way to go about it. So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. This game features very lacklustre minimalist pixelcrap "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", but it doesn't, it comes across as "really lazy". Yes, contemporar…1 found this helpful
Cute game
Neat little concept. Although it's not obvious, the duration timing can be changed to your liking. Wish there's a way to adjust window size when not in full screen mode, as well as sound levels during the games segment.
Fix Pewpew. Its pretty much over once it bugged to the middle because you cant pick up ammos.
I love the music and the structure of the timer and breaks! It has really helped me to continue studying even when I feel a bit tired or unmotivated. Truly a life saver during finals season :] My only problem is with the mini game pew pew. For some reason randomly in the game my little ship jumps forward to the middle of the screen and I can't move it back to collect the tokens that give ammunition. I'm wondering if this is a normal feature of the game and I'm just too impatient to wait for a token to appear in the middle of the screen, or if there is some bug. Could someone let me know? Much thanks in advance
