Sunblaze

Very nice, short precision puzzle platformer with lots of extra content for seasoned platformer players yearning for bigger challenge. What's unique about this one is that all the levels take place within the space of your monitor without ever really changing its proportions. There's just enough variety here for a nice playthrough with some breaks cuz it can get a bit difficult. Hard mode offers completely new levels which really put your skill to the absolute limits. Then there's also The Lost levels which I think are the ones that did not make the cut to the base game and there's quite a few of them, too. Overall, a lot of content for such a small, overlooked game.

This is a fantastic precision platformer with TONS of content. It took me about 6.5 hours (and around 2000 deaths) to beat the main campaign 100%, but each chapter has a hard mode counterpart to it, and there are bonus "Lost Levels" that unlock when you beat the game. If you are looking for a platformer with tight controls and a good challenge, you should definitely check this one out.

I asked a couple of my friends for games that scratch the celeste "itch" and this was one that got recommended a lot to me. This game is really good about 30% of the time (Especially chapter 4, that section was fantastic) and the main thing that would fix the other 70% would be a manual grab button for ledges and bars. I cannot express in words just how infuriating it is for a game about extremely precise platforming to simply just not let you grab the wall hold because you were about 2 pixels off, or when I am forced to grab a bar that I am nowhere near only to then have the platform the bar is on fall offscreen and have to start the level again. The random auto-mantling onto spikes my character decides to do sometimes feels completely out of my control and some screens end up feeling more like I got lucky rather than me accomplishing something. I want to like this game, conceptually the one room levels are a really cool idea, and the routes you have to take are also very strong for the most part. But the platforming feels too random in its mechanical nature, so I cant recommend this game. If you were looking at this game as a game that feels like celeste or just as a platforme…

Genuinely Amazing Game! I just finished the main story with every collectible and had an absolute blast. The Game is split into 6 chapters with each chapter focusing on a gimmick unique to itself, which is then thoroughly explored until you move on to the next chapter where a new gimmick awaits. The levels themselves are all small one screen puzzles. The challenge here is not only within the difficult platforming, but also within figuring out the correct route to beat the level and collect the collectible if there is one. This is because, especially in the later levels, you barely have any safe spots. Ground crumbles, turns into a death volume, spikes shoot out of the ground or little somethings hurl bullets at you. Causing the wrong chunk of ground to fall at the wrong time means its not there when you need it to advance, but it is never frustrating as you respawn quickly and learn immediately from any failed attempt until the point were you start to see the route from the get go and clear it in one go, its really really satisfying. A solid little platformer that requires some quick reflexes and careful planning. A lot of comparisons are made to Celeste, but personally I'd say the game plays closer to Super Meat Boy in the sense that levels are extremely short and a fair portion of the challenge is figuring out the right way to get through the level, rather than pure execution. This game isn't quite as polished as some of the other well known indie platformers and the characters and story are just serviceable, but it does what it needs to well to be fun. Pretty solid soundtrack too.
