SOLAR CAGE

Has some cool ideas, but too janky and poorly optimised to be worth your time. Also suprisingly bad controls for a movement-focused game.

This game is straight up unplayable, it’s a broken mess.

"SOLAR CAGE" is a mediocre 3D first person parkour platformer with a hideous filter designed to try hide the ultra lazy low poly environments. What do you do in the game? It's a platformer, so parkour and shooting to traverse levels and complete objectives leading to the ultimate goal of blowing up the sun. The graphics aren't great, low poly low quality assets and crappy filters. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. You have to kill to get the bullet back. What happens if you miss? No more bullet for you.

Endlessly enraging, but sometimes not in a good way. The story is interesting, the gameplay is fluid, and the visuals are pretty cool. The parkour is just too difficult, in a way that makes me feel cheated every time. It can also get quite laggy.
