幸存者 星星之火 | Survivor Spark is yet another of literally hundreds of lazy amateur retro top-down shooters infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one is from China, but at least it's 3D rendered (badly) which makes it look slightly better than the hundreds of 2D retro pixel GameMaker Studio template jobs glutting Steam. There's a sci-fi theme and a nonsense plot, the game is pretty difficult and it's imbalanced and un-fun to play due to lack of polish and lack of any serious playtesting from the developer. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. No idea how I ended up with this. It's a paid game, so maybe it was part of a bundle? It looks kind of like a warcraft 3 / starcraft custom map turned into a standalone game. Anyway, I couldn't get english support working and it's very difficult to figure out what's going on. If you're reading this in english, this game is probably not for you.
