How does it work?
Each puzzle is a piece of music waiting to be written. Place musical notes on your scale. Their position determines which platforms activate when the melody plays. Once you’ve composed your solution, turn the key and let the music guide the swan through the level.Perfect timing and thoughtful placement are the keys to success. Between puzzles, a touching narrative slowly unfolds, revealing the story of the music box’s creator and the family it was made for.The Story
You discover an old, mysterious music box filled with personal artifacts. This was the creator’s final masterpiece, his “swan song”. Lovingly crafted as a tribute to his family.With every puzzle you solve, fragments of his story come to light. What happened to the family? What secrets does the box hold? Swan Song's future free updates
We will update Swan Song with some free updates in the months after release. These of course include some bug fixes, but we also have some additional content planned! Later this year you can expect to get your hands on the level editor, so you can create your own levels and share them on the steam workshop. This level editor will also get some updates with platforms and additional mechanics never seen in the main story! We will also be working on proper controller & better Steam Deck support. A console release of Swan Song is something we really want to do! We are working on it, but don't have an exact release plan for it yet. Stay tuned for more!What Steam players say

Swan Song is an emotional puzzle game set inside a music box. There are nine chapters, and for each puzzle, you will place music notes to move the swan to the final platform. I like that each chapter introduces new puzzle elements, such as new music notes that make the swan freeze, platforms that teleport the swan, and obstacles like a hunter to avoid. The story is emotional and follows Amber, Tristan, and their daughter Edith. You learn about Amber's eventual passing and the grief that followed. It took me 5 hours to play through all nine chapters of the game, and each chapter has an additional secret level to play, which adds more to the playtime. I do think the price is worth it. However, there is no hint system in the game, so if you do get stuck in a level, you have to keep placing the notes through trial and error or look up a playthrough for help. Also, I regularly encountered a bug where I would place a note on the musical scale, and it would get stuck, and I could not pick it up again. When I wound the music box, the note would not play, and after the swan failed to complete the level, the note would reset, and I could place it again. A very nice, short and sweet little puzzle game with a very heartfelt story underlining it. Every level provides new different mechanics that keeps everything fresh. Definitely recommended.
Nice cozy puzzle game with decent mechanics and a touching (and very well-voiced), melancholy narrative. I found it best tackled in short bursts as did get a little fatiguing tackling too many levels in one sitting. Fortunately, the game lends itself well to a pick-up-and-put-down playstyle. I did encounter a recurring bug on Steamdeck where I sometimes lost sound effects (but not other audio). Worth the price of entry. Try the demo and if you like it, then the full game is pretty much more of the same but with extra mechanics introduced as you progress through chapters.

I really liked this little game! Gotta love a simple, self-contained idea that gets progressively taken through a bunch of clever iterations and variations. Games that do this can sometimes get a little tedious if you don't jive with some of the mechanics that are introduced or if they get a little too clever for their own good, but I didn't find that to be the case here at all. I was starting to get stuck for slightly longer on some of the puzzles around chapter 5 or 6, and walked away for a little while because I knew that if the difficulty was going to keep ramping up for the second half I'd need a bit more headspace for it. But it was actually just an isolated bump in difficulty, and once that was overcome the later chapters went back to being just a little below that threshold at most (while still remaining interesting due to the fun new variations they each revolve around). The only thing I thought would've been nice to have is the ability to see the implementation of your solution step-by-step to "debug" it, or at least to be able to really take in the state of the whole board at the step when your current solution goes awry, for it to be on screen for more than a short f…
