About Sonority

A unique puzzle mechanic using melodies

In Sonority the players explore a lost world in which music is magic and with whose help you can progress through the game. The puzzles are solved by the correct arrangement of notes. The solution is deduced acoustically or using symbols. No previous musical knowledge necessary.
The player takes on the role of young Esther, who sets out on a journey to help a friend. Equipped with her pan flute, she reaches the mysterious rockery. But soon her path is blocked and she must use the power of music to overcome the obstacles. Not always an easy task.
In a world lapsed into silence, Esther rediscovers lost songs and mossy works of art. Naturally aided by singing stones and a talking raccoon. Yet there seems to be no trace of the legendary preceptors of music.
The further you get, the trickier the game becomes. Collect new notes and instruments to overcome even the most difficult puzzles of the preceptors.

Features

 • Interesting new puzzle mechanic based on melodies. (Simple note sequences develop into small melodies and then into complex pieces of music.)
 • A touching story about Esther and an old, oddball raccoon and his singing stone friends.
 • A lovingly designed, cohesive 3D game world with varied locations.
 • Atmospheric, extensive soundtrack with English and German versions of original songs.
 • Play with keyboard or controller.

(Подробный обзор на русском: > по ссылке <) A puzzle game where we build paths by moving blocks via music intervals. + Unusual idea. + The first part of the story with the Raccoon is fun. + A challenge room. + Not short, not long: 3.5 hours to reach end credits. + Achievement-friendly: no missable achievements, a tracker for collectables in each room. = There's almost no background music, just wind, water, and notes from the solved puzzles. = The game is not hard. = It's not about music. You can solve it even if you are deaf. It's just about differences between notes (=numbers) ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ – There are 3 instruments, but they almost have no difference; and no interaction between them. – From the second half of the game, there are almost no new mechanics. – The final of the story is very predicatable. Just OK game. I feel that it has unrealized potential to be greater.

I found so many bugs while playing this. Multiple times I would press a button to start one of the super duper fun timed sequences and it either just wouldn't start or it would look like it didn't so I go to press it again when actually it did now you just reset it but the lights are messed up visually now. (Also in case it wasn't obvious - don't do timed sequences especially if you give less than a second margin on most of the timed things). Multiple times I would get stuck on objects or if you move a platform that you are standing on too high or low and they didn't think you would do that you are softlocked and have to quit to the main menu to fix that. The music was fine but not having actual options in the pause menu but the main menu makes it hard to adjust to get things right. I mean it took this game sitting here unfinished 2 years for me to go back and try and finish and 100% it - WHICH I CAN'T - because achievements for the music tiles? squares? are broken. Just doesn't count it correctly even tho there are 63? it doesn't even say I collected 30 but I have them all from what I can tell. The last area has some really nice musical layering that I would have loved to listen t…

This game has a charming story, with nice locations, and fun puzzles. A few of the later puzzles were a bit confusing for me, but overall most of the puzzles were just the right amount of difficulty. My biggest issue for the game is the translation into English. It isn't that bad, and certainly not unplayable, but sometimes dialogue clunky or out of place, which can really break the immersion.

Beautiful game, I missed a little more development at the end, like what happens next? I also had too many musical notes that were of no use to me apart from the stones that give some lore. And sometimes I got stuck for exploring where I shouldn't I guess, but the game is fun, it's really pretty
