About Terracrest
Project Earthquake
You have been tasked to return to Mine 41-A and retrieve the research data left behind during the evacuation. The mining equipment you’ve been assigned to in an old prototype mining drill, something not intended to actually be used. The engineers have got as far as making it functional before your mission, so you will need to maintain the vessel as you go.
Gameplay
Navigation requires the use of echo-cast; a kind of echolocation raycasting that’ll project a digital representation of what’s in front of you.
Power is something you’ll need to manage, so using the scanner to find energy signatures will be helpful in replenishing your power as well as locating outposts.
Once in range of an outpost, use the Short Ranged Receiver (S.R.R.) to download the data that was left behind in that outpost.

During your mission, you’ll find that your mining vessel is leaking air, so you’ll need to cycle the oxygen back in the air lock. You may also hear the breaker start to hum as it’s about to give out. You’ll have to crawl into the engine room to repair it.

Features
- Freely explore the underground mine in a restrictive mining vessel using digital representations of your surroundings.
- Deviate from the mission to unlock four alternative endings, revealing secrets the company wants to remain hidden.
- Keeping your vessel maintained by watching your power consumption, keeping the air breathable, and fixing the engine room breaker.
- Unlock different extras after each ending, ranging from freely roaming the main menu to a fishy arcade game.
History
This game is an evolution of a game I made in 2017 in scratch called “Power Driller.” The goal of the game was to navigate a maze of breakable and unbreakable boxes to get to a power block without running out of power. I had floated the idea of making a reboot in 3D, and did so in 2023 for the GDevelop 3D jam. After a short break, I wanted to remake the jam version of the game, make it a more fleshed out experience, so after a short break, I started work on Power Driller 2, later Project Earthquake, and then finally Terracrest.

Gameplay: I found the gameplay to be difficult to grasp in the beginning, but once I got a firm grasp on the mechanics, it was quite enjoyable. The difficulty of this game comes from navigation which is tied to your ability to find power, so, once you overcome that, the additional power management system came naturally after. The gameplay should stay generally fresh for the length of what's currently in the game right now. Story, Setting, Style: What's currently available in the game works to act as a foundation later Terracrest projects. It establishes the company and their morals, and one of the endings gives a voice to one of the employees. I thought the death quips were funny and made the company look cruel. While there isn't a whole lot directly told to you, there's plenty to ruminate on similar to initial impressions to Iron Lung but not as deep. This game isn't really a horror game like Iron Lung was, but it undoubtedly has equal passion behind it that bleeds through into the game. While I received this for free, I think the game is worth $6. The gameplay is difficult but that allows it to stay fresh over the playtime, the story sets up for more future c…2 found this helpful

I love the graphics of the game giving the player a sort of nostalgia while playing and the idea to make a non horror game have that aspect of horror in it, although there were some things i wish there was in the game, such as some sort of indication my oxygen is alright once i use the air transfer device, this game has a lot of potential, and worth buying1 found this helpful
