The Blackwood Project

Very solid bones for what could be a really good game. It really nails the RE vibe, although it is a much simpler game. Be warned: this is really not truly a "game", it's more of a proof-of-concept prologue, so only expect a 15 minute playthrough (at most). The combat really needed some more work, it is VERY clunky. Being a student project, this is pretty impressive, and if the flaws were ironed out, I would gladly pay for a game like this from these devs in the future.

Nicely designed game but the combat is pretty booty but once your out of ammo you are out of ammo and have to restart the entire level. When I got to level 3 where you fight the giant mutant dog my character glitched out and froze in place and couldn't move at all after getting hit by the mutant doggo. And to make things worse the enemies respawn but ammo doesn't? Then when I died twice there were audio issues and a texture glitch on the mutant dog. At least you have the ability to skip levels since I didn't want to do level 3 all over again ok free to play game overall if you can get past the combat and glitches but I wouldn't recommend because of them https://youtu.be/X6hkdaZKBjo

This game actually isn't bad. The good things: Classic survival horror inventory management Controller support Good ambiance and soundtrack that keeps up the tension The character looks good. The story is alluring through audio logs and environmental story telling. It's free. Bad things: Tank controls only. I've always hated tank controls, so usually I wouldn't hold it against my score, but after playing the game Them and Us, and having the choice to turn OFF tank controls and having the option go to third or first person when I want to, that's my new standard. That was a rare glitch were I actually couldn't move no matter what I did, but that got fixed when I relaunched the game. My final score is a 9/10.

i like the direction of the game but the moment i died in level 3 and respawned out of bounds i understood taht this game is still somehow only half-baked every bullet counts, dont miss! sweep every room with your laser sight, you just might find something with it if not with your eyes healing is mostly for AFTER an encounter, once you survive it, a saving grace for another encounter if needed its honestly a very challenging intersting game, and given the tools i have, it feels like its mostly my fault when i get hit just fix some of these bugs lol

A strong proof of concept. Too dark and the enemies are transparent? I wish there was a dodge mechanic and it is possible to "soft lock" a level if you run too low on ammo. Looking forward to the next project by this developer.
