About project BLARI

Play as Terence Lebrun, an investigative journalist working on an investigation far too big for you.
You've been investigating the activities of the Local Tax Administration and Regulation for months, with many plainclothes soldiers entering the building and not leaving for several days. You receive a call from your source in BLARI, and it's time to go and investigate on the spot: it's a disaster. What you find on the spot has nothing to do with taxes, the situation has changed and now you have to get out of the building at all costs to avoid getting caught.
In this horror game with graphics inspired by the PS1 confront the entity before it gets too strong, surround yourself with the right people to get out alive!

- An original and very open independent survival game.
- A stylized graphic style inspired by the early PS1.
- Choose your ending, you decide who to help and who to kill.
- Explore a large map and multiple zones.
- Escape the entity's grip, find its weak point and exploit it.
- An exciting original sound track by Neku Sheyen from the Starrysky group.

Bought this game because I watched someone playing it Youtube. It looked interesting, and was very cheap. But honestly, I can't recommend Project Blari in its current state. The idea of semi-open world Survival Horror and having choices/side-quests that can determine which ending you get and which NPCs survive is great. Sadly this game executes that, and all of its mechanics, in an awfully boring and lackluster way, when games from the PS1 era it tries to hommage handled those things much better. The few side quests given by NPCs are basically just "bring me X item from Y place" with practically nothing in the way that could challenge you to get said item. The multiple "different" endings are more or less all the same, essentially there are two endings, and the others are just practically insignificant variations of those two and a different text over black screen at the end. And good luck if you want to get all endings anyway, because what you have to do to get each of them is not intuitive at all, so you'll need a guide, and the couple of guides that exist are in French. And speaking about French, the game doesn't actually have full English translation despite what the store p…10 found this helpful

I really wanted to like this game but its so incredibly frustrating and poorly designed i cant fathom to play it another 5 minutes and retain my sanity. I really like the atmosphere and the ps1 graphics, but i just cant.... First off, who the ♥♥♥♥ binds the controls to have (Z) as the forward button? im sorry but that is the dumbest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing i have ever seen in my life. Secondly, the level design is so utterly confusing as hell. The moment u start, your in a house. But you go into the basement, and you re=appear on the second floor? WHAT THE HELL? it just kept looping around and around which made no sense at all. i KNOW this is a indie game, and i give props to the developer, but jesus christ. FIX the first area. Id be willing to give it a second chance after its polished up a bit, but right now this game and its controls are unplayable.
project BLARI it's kind of a mix bag. At the surface, it's premise and PS1 aesthetic look interesting; a third person horror, with a semi open world to explore... Looks enticing, doesn't play amazing. In the first seconds you will be left confused by the camera, button mashing needed to sprint, and English translations that change halfway to French, without you touching the settings, that, amazingly enough, were left also in French. The history is told through notes, or rather papers with mathematic equations that I failed to understand, and, to close the deal, the slowest escort mission to ever been invented, since RE4 came out. The price tag is, unfortunately, rather expensive for a product that clearly wasn't tested or finished and will never be. The devs seemed to have forgotten the game exists, and preferred to move on to different games. You can check how the game runs on Steam Deck by pressing the link below: https://youtu.be/P7U0xwaqICU
A VERY enthusiastic YES!! Tank controls straight from the 90s, a true PS1 aesthetic, great attention to detail, environmental story-telling, dark questions, choices to be made... This is a short little hour long game with a few endings that really hits the mark! It has a couple of stealth areas that dont overstay their welcome or are overly punishing. The atmosphere of the game is amazing DESPITE its limited graphical prowess. For boomers like me or youngins who are curious of the old PS1 horror games (a la Resident Evil), what youll find here is a very enjoyable and fun experience. Sometimes very psychedelic as well... youll see. What I found very refreshing is that I have a weapon and have a way to fight back. So sick and tired of Amnesia clones.... There are a couple of enemies that cannot be killed and they provide short little chase scenes with one actually getting my blood pumping. The gun is amazingly responsive for a game of this style as well. Just really fun. I definitely have to give this game a 8.75 out 10. I feel like more could have been done with the story but it left room for a sequel. I sure hope it does get one!
