About The Gleam: VR Escape the Room
The Gleam: VR Escape the Room is a short room-scale experience designed to provide an immersive, claustrophobic, obstacle course full of puzzles and codes that you must solve in order to escape.
- Full room-scale based on minimum room-scale requirements. No teleporting or artificial locomotion.
- Horror ambiance provides a constant lingering fear that you aren't alone in the "gleam".
- Creative obstacles have you crawling through vents as you search high and low for items that'll help you solve puzzles.

"The Gleam: VR Escape the Room" is a fairly basic Unreal asset flipped first person horror adventure, one of many hundreds, if not thousands of these glutting Steam. The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unreal Marketplace packs, arranged them haphazardly in a Virtual Reality first person adventure game template, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers. The most notable thing about this is the developer abused a loophole with Valve's store system to blank the developer and publisher names to hide their identity. Too bad, Blue Entropy Studios, we know it was you. Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gam…3 found this helpful
Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this!
In my 10 minutes of playtime, I had to restart twice, once because an item flew out of my hand and through a wall, and once because the trigger in one of the only puzzles in the game wasn't activating correctly. The game has about 10 minutes of uninteresting content, and two completely pointless jump-scares. Do not pay money for this.3 found this helpful
Played on the HTC vive hmmm. hard to judge, I got it in a bundle with a lot of other vr games and that bundle was already pretty cheap. I don't think it's worth the 3,99 euro's as it is at the time of writing.. even 1 euro would be too much. As a first try for a game it is ok, but very short. It certainly has it's flaws. and you'll propably be done in less than 10 minutes.. Also, even though it's a 'roomscale' experience, it's never a good thing to let people have to crawl to get to a point. You can walk through walls and see the next room.. And as others mentioned, it has some 'scarejumps' which really aren't necessary.. For the price/experience you get I can't recommend it, unless you got it for like 50 cents or less or for free..1 found this helpful
Just do not touch, waste of time, even if were free. such game should not be on sale for purchase.
way too buggy for me to play. was losing items in the floor, getting soft locks on exiting the game and doesn't even seem to have a menu system.
dont pay for this
