this game is the only entry in the strange men series that i had not played before now, so i was very excited to jump into it. it felt a lot like the crooked man, which made it the perfect conclusion for the series. Uri, i just wanted to say thank you for creating such amazing games. the characters and their stories have always stuck with me, and i imagine they will continue to do so.

It's a nice game. I like the game style and gameplay so much. And the voice acting is great. I loved the game. Sadly, it is the last part in the series but nevertheless, it was great. Everything has to come to an end Ig. ;p

When I played through the Strange Men series a few years ago, I found most of the entries to be just okay. This is the only one that truly stood out and has stayed in my conscious since. I think about how much I enjoyed it pretty often, something I would have never expected from a humble RPG Maker game. The Hanged Man is easily the best of the Strange Men series. While it is the finale, the extra context you get from playing the other entries is not necessary to enjoy this one. I highly recommend you play this, even without playing the others first. The Hanged Man holds its head high, all on it's own.

As someone who has completed most of this series (out of order, like a dummy) I have to say that this one stands out as one of my favorites. Some of the reoccuring characters weren't as appreciated (or recognized at the time), but the story itself was nothing less than endearing. I, myself, have found myself lost in an abandoned compound looking for my talking rat, so I find it heavily relatable, which is always a positive when you're playing a game; relatability.

I have mixed opinions about this game, but overall I recommend it. I think it is a good way to wrap up the series, and that it tied everything well together, especially with the direct correlations to things important in the first game's plot. I really enjoyed Will's character and I think he is well though off and written. I enjoyed the feature to skip longer scenes when replaying (this feature was added in the previous game) and I think the bonus stuff this time around was great. NOW, however, what bothered me the most is the gameplay. The puzzles are not intuitive at all and have you walking around all the time, triggering scenes and trying to progress. At certain points you may even have to really backtrack because you missed something that you need. I fail to understand why you would make essential things for progress so missable. The gameplay felt like a drag and at some point I just wanted to drop the game. It was not enjoyable at all. I had to check the guide all the time, and that is no way to enjoy a game. I think it is worth it because of the setting, the characters and the plot, but gameplay was really bad in my opinion. If this was a game on its own, and not the ending …

This game sadly falls a bit in the walking simulator category more than the other games in the series, there is a lot of story to cover. This is playable standalone, but a lot of reoccuring characters from the other games in the series show up in this one as well and knowing them beforehand really helps with caring about the story.
