The Living Remain

A pretty fun zombie game that can hold up to the other games in the genre. While it may seem a bit dull at first, it does open up later on and introduces several mechanics like climbing, puzzles and water areas. It's nothing what you haven't seen before, but it does them in a very atmospheric way. The puzzles are also nicely done with you having to interact with buttons and levers or having to do an Assassin's Creed style climbing section. As for the weapons, you have the usual stuff like a pistol, an Uzi, two shotguns and two assault rifles. It's nothing that you haven't seen before, but it's sufficient and the ability to upgrade your weapons does open up your playstyle a bit. That said, it is not as run and gun as Arizona Sunshine. While the store pag does show the character dual wielding, I never saw it as a feasable mechanic during combat. Especially given that there is no automatic reload option and the game really didn't like me trying to grab ammo with the off hand. And it also has this habit of throwing groups of runners at you during horde sections, so it feels more managble than Arizona Sunshine. Does good job of telling story, and exploring world. Definitely a few moments that feel like experiencing scenes out of a zombie movie. I would rate it similar to Arizona Sunshine or SURV1V3 zombie games.

I would not recommend this game. The trailer looks great, the game looks decent until you actually play it. This game has a lot of potential, but it ultimately feels like a lazily done mash-up of trying to be Saint & Sinners, HL:Alyx, and a little Boneworks/lab too. First complain is constant stuttering despite having a PC that can run VR Games at great quality, even on low settings the game constantly has graphical stutters every 10-15 seconds. The gunplay is okay, the weapons a little harder to aim than most, all the assets in the game are pre-made, which im not against I just know some people dont like. Knifing zombies isnt satisfying at all, you'll either hit them and it wont stab and just deflect off them like putty and get hit, or it will just switch to the knife being in their head and a really slow stiff animation of them dying, its like getting put into a knife cutscene with no cutscene. The hitboxes are sorta ridiculous, they get really close and immediately attack without much time to manuever, and if you do move back its a 50/50 whether it counts as a dodge or they hit you from a few feet away some how. This is definitely a game worth playing. I loved every second of it. The amount of work and love put into this amazing game is impressive for such a small husband and wife team. Do yourself a favour and check it out.

Really Good but after a short time I feel sick and have tocome off. Would have been great is Teleport Movement was a fixture. Maybe it will be added in the future, hope so.
