The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart

It wasn't that good in my opinion. There were too many random plot devices that made the story go all over the place. It made it so that you couldn't really get attached to any of the characters.

Narratively, a mess. The writers do not know how to end the stories for the two most compelling love interests. Things get rushed to a ludicrous degree when the writers decide the curtains must fall. The side heroines have proper writing, though, and the music is really beautiful. The art is pretty. And the story is incredibly funny. I played with the partial TL patch. There is only one H scene the story is better with. The rest detract, a lot. You are not missing too much without it. The TL is opinionated, no honorifics and some weird nickname choices as well as a couple typos. Very quality TL work. I recommend for some lighthearted fun. It has some adorable moments, but if you're wanting something cohesively profound, this is not it.

Overall, every route has moments that are enjoyable and never boring. Personally, I stayed engaged the whole time. The characters are expressive, the pacing is mostly solid, and the story clearly wants to explore relationships, expectations, and emotional baggage. However, the visual novel often gets in its own way. The biggest issue is the forced use of pervert / porn jokes. They feel unnecessary, poorly timed, and sometimes clash hard with otherwise serious character writing. This is especially noticeable in routes that are meant to be emotional and character-driven. Instead of being funny, many of these jokes simply break immersion. That said, when the story focuses on its core conflicts, it really shines. Several routes handle emotional pressure, family expectations, and personal identity surprisingly well. The main writing is strong enough that even when some elements feel awkward or poorly censored, the narrative still manages to carry itself. Supporting characters actually matter, especially in the stronger routes…

It's a good visual novel about human relationships, if you can look over its exaggerations on this topic.

Very good and chill game with amazing character art designs but why cut the 18+ contents?
