The Shopkeeper

A looping adventure game about business and personalities. I do not think that the Very Negative rating is justified, even if the game is flawed. I had some fun getting to know the characters, but the length of loop is much too short. I would have enjoyed a more fleshed out loop and an easier path to the different endings. If you have this game in your library, you should definitely try it out.

On a serious note though, imagine that you woke up in a friends body, after they forgot to buy something that their partner very strongly stressed they get at the store, and now you can't get it for three days due to a holiday and it's desperately needed. That's what you'll experience playing this game. Non-stop being aggressively complained at. So if that's your deal, $3 should be a bargain.

It's easy to farm this game for achievements, but honestly there's no point to it otherwise. Extremely boring dialogue, complete lack of story or motivation, and repetitive use of scenery. No joke, I believe there are only six location frames and four characters for this entire game. The game just starts, you click on an object in an antique store, you hear a boring description, and then you have a boring conversation using the same few lines of dialogue. Repeat that like a dozen times, and you get all the achievements.

Each playthrough takes about 5 minutes or so and after 1 go you pretty much get the gist of the game. [b]Story[/b] Although the game is titled The Shopkeeper he is not particularly involved in the story other than someone that starts off the story of the young businessman and his interactions with his mother in law as they are more the focus. The story has different endings and a few differing interactions based on your choices but overall there isn't much and so each playthrough will have you going through the same dialogues and interactions.
