Torch

This game was so simply fun. The mechanics are easy to understand, hard to master. Very enjoyable, solid game. Online multiplayer would be a huge plus. Overall very solid and great to sink some time into.

This game cannot be played as intended.[/quote] "Torch" is a strange little platformer from France that comes across more as a tech demo or a student project rather than a serious game for PC gamers. I guess that explains the price point... regardless, this is a game that requires several players, and there's no population for the game at all. Why not? Well, apart from the quality, this is just a really shallow "always jump upwards" platformer... there's no gripping reason for anyone to play such a shallow game, and that plays out in the public reception (SteamDB tells a very dire tale). What do you do in the game? Jump upwards, all the time, push other players off platforms (there are none), avoid hazardous platforms, yawn a lot and maybe take a nap. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. Th…
