About Trade Bots: A Technical Analysis Simulation
Trade Bots is an educational simulation game featuring technical analysis and algorithmic trading. Buy and sell an unknown stock using its real, historic data - beginning from a random time in the past, trading the asset using only technical analysis concepts gained along the way. Learn fundamentals of how to trade based solely on patterns and technical indicators, gradually unlocking upgrades which expedite and automate your trading. Borrowing from the mechanics of some "idle" and "roguelike" games, progress is made by banking funds for future runs after you are margin called, and upgrades can enhance the speed of simulation, increase margin equity, unlock advanced indicators, and per its name, engage automation techniques.
In gamifying a process known as "backtesting" in economics, Trade Bots players test their own trading strategies against 5,000+ real, historic stock/ETF/crypto data dating back to as early as the 1950s to present day. Over the course of the campaign, design intricate trading bots using a custom-built visual node editor. The engine is highly flexible and accommodates practically any trading strategy imaginable while requiring no programming background. Advanced unlocks allow for playing with cryptocurrencies, Exchange Traded Funds, and the ability to share your bots with other players.

Not realistic as I do this in real life, and am profitable. Real stock data is used sure, but no news or volatility index, trends etc. are given to you. Lessons an info are good, but mechanics of trading are poor in that the Buy/Sell amounts/sell all should be all customizable. The fact I can't dump all my shares at once is silly. Can't move on to the other portions of the sim due to not doing enough hours or "beating" the stock levels. Indicators are poor, and for someone whos never done this its like this, "Here are the worst indicators for trading and an account with no money, go win, good luck..."2 found this helpful
Looked like a fun game. Doesn't work sadly all prices and values are blank, ?????, or NaN with the exception of taking out a loan. Money and shares disappear and I managed to soft lock the game instantly by taking both free upgrades before the tutorial told me to. Seems to be broken maybe I'll try again later and it'll be fixed.
I like the concept of this game, but it's no longer starting successfully on my mac. The developer open sourced the project, which is cool, but github does not reflect the latest version, and they aren't responsive on either github or discord. Wish they'd lean in to the open source spirit a bit more, as this really was a very interesting learning environment, and I'd love to help it along.
It's fun to just stare at price and trade from time to time, that been said if you don't enjoy trading then maybe it doesn't feel like a game to you. if you want to train trading however, a simulation account from brokers serve you better. after a few years I think it has become a decent trading simulator, node bots are interesting but it's kinda difficult to replicate strategies based on pattern. I don't use indicators other than MACD so I cant comment on that part. The best part about this game is that the dev hasn't abandoned it. I can feel the improvements every a few months. Good job.
