✦ AI summary
Players consistently praise the game's charming hand-drawn art style, crisp and responsive combat mechanics, and excellent value for the low price point, with many highlighting the atmospheric music and quirky character designs. The main complaints center on the lack of blocking mechanics and some feeling the controls or animations seem raw and unpolished, though the developer appears responsive to feedback based on recent improvements like adding a stat screen and clearer numbers.
Edit: I saw a little update for this game come out. Didn't see any patch notes or anything so I figured I would jump in and give it a shot. I'm happy to report that flaw #1 no longer exists! Numbers are clear and we have a stat screen! I will leave the critique up as it shows that the developer listens and improves. Great work! As for my second flaw, I'm confident it's staying in the game because it is probably just what the dev prefers. That's fine by me. I don't like contact damage but it isn't going to stop me from playing this fine game. With the stat screen implemented and clear numbers, it's time to really sink in some hours! I have about a half hour in this game. In a market where I think everything is overpriced, I ensure you that this is under priced. The combat is crisp. Very responsive. Starting with fun abilities is a lot better than needing to get upgrades that grant you abilities so I thank you for that. New enemy types are introduced at a good rate. The potential for a fun, overpowered build is there. I, personally, am not a fan of roguelite dungeons where I run through random gen stuff that still looks very generic the whole time. You should play this game at least for this handdrawn graphics. They're containing *soul*. But this game also has a ton of different tight mechanics to play around. Combat system might seem easy enough at first, but as you buy more items you eventually come to realise that it's deeper than you thought it was. While not having much of a story, the game is filled with quite a lot of little stuff in almost everything - animations, sounds, music, texts and even icons - and it creates an unique atmosphere when combined together, that cannot be described in a single word, or even sentence. It's subtle yet it's everywhere. Music sound simple but it isn't really like that. It also sounds kinda refreshing and does not bother you (and this is coming from a guy who ground-levels the music volume slider after playing a lot of games for 30-50 mins) Overall it is really nice, beautiful and mechanically-deep game for its price. You won't regret playing it!6 found this helpful
This game is the best that you can buy for 2 bucks really. I'm not a big fan of this kind of games but there’s definitely something catchy about it. it is very cool to get such responsive control to begin with. Its really amazing to get that from the independent game with no publisher and big studio. I can hardly imagine how much effort was put in here. This graphics was actually drawn by the hand and it looks awesome. I also liked the music much, this ambient in the style of Isaac is very good and doesn’t bother you. So, to sum it up, I recommend this game, among all the Gachi and hentai puzzles on the same price level you can purchase something unique and support the future development of some nice stuff.5 found this helpful
Despite of the seeming simplicity, the game is very addictive. It’s awesome to pass through the waves of enemies under cool soundtrack. Bestiary is very unusual from people with bell-heads to corals in raincoats. Handmade drawing looks just awesome and does not bother during the playtime. Also in this game there are a large assortment of items with an unusual presentation of their description, the Merchant and the main character have truly amusing conversations on the subject of items. Highly recommend to play, sure you will like it.2 found this helpful
Unfortunately, the game isn't worth the invested time or the price. Overall feels really raw in the controls, the animations and even the features. You cannot block which leaves you trying to dodge around.1 found this helpful
Seems a good game. Although, I am not into rogue-type games, it seems fun.
