About Victim Cache the RPG - An 80s JRPG Parody

“Sex, drugs, and leveling up!”
Victim Cache: The RPG is a parody of popular Japanese role playing games from the 1980s and 1990s, such as Final Fantasy I-VI and Dragon Warrior I-IV. Although the game play, story, and graphical style mimic RPGs of that era, Victim Cache: The RPG features mature humor, themes, and language.

The gameplay is modeled after classic JRPGs. Players can move their characters up, down, left, or right on a top down 2D map to explore the 8-bit towns, dungeons, and overworld. Along the way, players must talk to archetypal non-player characters to advance the quest lines. Battles are fought from a side view perspective in which the player can choose to attack, cast a spell, execute a special attack, use an item, or later in the game summon additional allies to help. Battles are won when all enemies hit points have reached zero.

Another addition to the huge pile of RPG Maker trash. Crashed within the first 30 seconds of gameplay because of trying to access the skill menu, assumed it was because I had no skills - But alas it did crash again when trying later after obtaining one. Gave up after second crash putting me back a while as the game doesn't feel too captivating. Might give it another try at some point to get farther and update the review. Dialogue gives a "cringy teen made this game in Newgrounds era" feeling. The Drunken Paladin does this kind of humor way better, and it's free - Might be able to pick up a thing or two for improvements from there. If you enjoy harshly put together RPG Maker games it's probably a good buy, but Last Dream and The Drunken Paladin are a hundred times more worth your time.

F*** you /// Fortunately, I finished this game with a good ending. [spoiler] (this is last boss is a wtf with his dmg) [/spoiler] Really good game to relax, with good text, humor and soundtrack. Nothing extra. I don’t know why this game passed by Steam players... -- 10/10
