About Warranted Humanity
An unknown virus is turning infected mammals into cannibals and zombies.
Choose carefully what you take and when you take it. It could have game altering consequences. Enjoy a distinct ‘Will take time’ inventory system where you still need to manage how much you carry on person (or deal with encumbrance), but without the logistics of physically having to run back and forth through a stage to find something you dropped or left behind.
Complete your plan of action in a race against time to ensure humanity’s survival, which involves -among other goals- upgrading your shelter to house more survivors, establishing a safe self-sustainable colony and collecting enough tissue samples to trace the origin of the virus and find a permanent cure.Randomness in item & enemy spawning, as well as NPC interactions ensures that every game is a little different, offering up to 50 hours' worth of gameplay.
GAME FEATURES
Warranted Humanity is not a sandbox. Choices matter. Your character cannot die, but if you run out of health or morale, you will flee to your shelter and live with your mistakes. The game only ends when you ran out of time.Morale is just as important as health in Warranted Humanity. Killing healthy and curable humans (instead of incapacitating them) has a large negative impact on morale, especially in the beginning of the game. Develop courage by taking damage and getting stung by bees to improve your maximum morale, or you will flee to your shelter in panic after receiving only a few bites and scratches. Manage short-term challenges like cuts, hunger and fatigue, or they will turn into long-term problems like infection, starvation and sleep deprivation, affecting your maximum health, stamina and morale.Spend your time wisely What you do at night, affects your efficiency during the day and how well you fight and scavenge during the day, determines your options during the night. Warranted Humanity combines action (during the day) with slower paced base management (during the night) and there is a clear distinction between what you must do in each of these periods. Fighting is action-based, but the body part hit, weapon condition, the presence of armour, as well as the hero’s stats all have an influence on the outcome of hits, parries, damage received and damage dealt.Oversee survivors who joined your shelter. Add survivors to your shelter by helping those you encounter during day-time excursions, or by incapacitating and abducting infected humans you then treat with antibodies you harvested from your own body. More survivors at the shelter translates into more hands to help with the crafting, maintenance and upgrades, but it also means more mouths to feed. Micro-manage your survivors, or automate routine tasks, if you prefer a less hands-on approach.Deal with locks in a number of ways They come in different types and sizes and stand between you and important resources. If you have the right tool in your backpack, you can lockpick, hack or pry open a lock. These actions are implemented as mini-games and the difficulty of the task is affected by the hero’s stats. You can also use a key or enter the right combination, if you found one of these along the way.Choose carefully what you take and when you take it. It could have game altering consequences. Warranted Humanity is an ambitious game that suffers from a common malady of the first-time game developer: Unconscious bias. The developer insists that you can develop your own playstyle, but there's clearly one he already has in mind, and by "develop your own" he means "find the edges and corners of the intended route" and "figure out where the trap options are." The other issue is that in a zombie game, a genre defined as much by improvisation and survivalism as gore and horror, you have essentially no room to deviate from the intended path. You are *intended* to grind up Lockpicking, Courage, and Strength before you go into town or collect Survivors, because the most consistent source of the Tools you need to actually support those survivors are locked cabinets. The lockpicking minigame is a moderately clever variation on the "realistic" school thereof, as opposed to Fallout and Skyrim's "find the correct angle." Find the stuck pin and then wiggle the tension selector around in the Sweet Spot until it sets, and then let go before it pops loose. This is hampered by the fact that unless you grind up about 5% Lockpicking Bonus, you won't be able to let go of the arro…6 found this helpful
More a survival simulator, than a game. I expected it to be easy, because you can’t die. Whatever you do, the days just continue until you run out of time. This time factor, not knowing if you’ll make it in time, is what makes it hard. Really hard. Looking back, it also makes it very rewarding. After a few replays. In the beginning I felt like a wimp. Also very lost. There’s a ton of info to absorb and lots more decision making, even during the day when there is more action than in the night. When I did save the world in the end, I felt like a god. I trained my chemist wimp into a survivalist leader and zombie fighting machine. There are new concepts that takes getting used to. For example, never dying and you can drop something on one side of the map and pick it up on the other side by paying a time fee. The game’s been crash-free. No Steam achievements.4 found this helpful
This game really deserves much more attention from the public. It is a survival/base building game, with everything you would expect from it in place, looks and plays interesting and with decent amount of content and depth for it's size. Also never encountered even a single bug or crash. Only cons being somewhat clunky combat and loading screens that take bit too much time. Totally recommend!2 found this helpful
Warranted Humanity is definitely an interesting experience. I enjoyed playing it, but it’s a lot to take in at first. There’s a learning curve, and I feel like I’ll need a lot more play time before I really get the hang of everything. It could use a bit more explanation and guidance in certain areas, but overall it’s coming along nicely and has a lot of potential. I’m excited to see how it develops as it continues to grow.2 found this helpful

Initial Impression: Thankfully, not yet another Unreal 5 disaster. The UI is clean, with nice little touches that explain what’s going on for example, how to shake off the rat. Graphics/assets, sound, and music are decent. All in all it seems to check out. Now, when I've done some actual hours in this the real review will follow... [𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒ℎ𝑜𝑙𝑑𝑒𝑟]1 found this helpful
