I don't understand the negative reviews. I'm playing blind on the hardest difficulty, and after 4–5 restarts, I've finally reached a point where I can breathe without having to constantly chase food and water. Tooked 45 ingame days. Now I can focus on whatever I want (hopefully), so I'm ready for the long haul. The difficulty is definitely there, but I'm really enjoying it. I haven't run into any game-breaking bugs—just minor QoL hiccups that are immediately fixed by reloading the save, maybe 1 minibug per 2 realtime hours. And after i know why it happens, i can avoid it. I do miss the old pixel art style a bit, but hey, I like this game a lot and absolutely recommend it. I seriously don't get the negativity... Usually, the community is spot-on, but here? I don't know. Am I missing something? ^^ 35 hours of playtime so far, and it's all good.

The gameplay was wonky compared to the last one, actions took extra steps for no reason, things weren't explained until after resources were already used, and, worst part, the characters you create at the beginning of the game are USELESS. The game forces random skills onto your character, forcing you to abandon any build ideas you created before starting and instead rely on rng characters you meet in the wild. Way to take all of the fun out of an 'rpg' survival game. What a stupid mechanic. There is also a memory leak problem that causes the graphics to degrade over time. The other reviews mention countless bugs, but I can't account for them because I never made it past the tutorial.

i tried to give this a try thinking maybe it's as good as the last game, no it really isn't, i got about 15mins into the tutorial and had encountered : - poor animations - really stiff animations - control jank - a ton of extra un-needed clicking despite it being smoother in the last game - really painful to look at washed out colours it put me off continuing it's very rare i don't finish a tutorial at least but this is one of the few instances i really couldn't do it, sadly i do not recommend. what i DO recommend is go play SHELTERED 1 aka the first game, it is a much better game

I did not play the Sheltered 1 or whatever they are called. But, according to the avid players of this game, Sheltered 1 is more "complete" that its predecessor game. This game has it good and bad aspects. First the good ones, I like its graphics and its animation. However, as I proceed to the game further, I noticed so many bugs and discrepancies while playing the game. First, freezing of animation, reputation mechanics is a bit clunky, the quality system is lacking, the story is very slowed paced, the workable areas of allied faction cannot be used, and broadcasting for traders always fails. Overall, the game requires adjustments in its micro- and macro-managements. I hope the team come back and fixes these bugs.

unfinished and abandoned

It's such a shame that there's no more dev on this game, I can't find anything of its ilk nearly as good so I keep coming back to it. It's very difficult for a long time but easier once you eventually get all your utilities balanced and prioritise a constant source of *fuel*. Top tips - keep an eye on the weather bar at the top of the screen for temperature extremes, and manual SAVE OFTEN eg. if one of your team develop pyromania (they do get sick a LOT) go back to last save point lol, its incurable so ends badly haha
