Welcome Back To 2007 Part II

This game reminds me of those 2D games we used to create back in high-school, using Adobe Flash for a project in the Computer programming course. I don't mean that in a good way, either ... It's very amateur, with messy drawings and a cluster ♥♥♥♥ of random items and enemies everywhere. At times, even I get confused as to which items are interact-able and which is not. I understand that they're trying to mimic the old 2000s style 2D platformers, but gosh, ik some students back in highs-school who did a better job than this. The music isn't bad, the animations are simplistic and character movements are linear. There's 3 difficulties to play, but here's the funny part; you have the option to unlock ALL the achievements for the game, in stats. Yes, I'm not kidding. No cheats, no hacks even the devs just gave up and decided to let players 100% the game with a simple click of a button. Why, I'm not too sure. Because of this, is there any motivation for players to try playing this game? Either way, Welcome Back To 2007 Part II isn't a game I can recommend.

One of the better indie platformers...if you manage to get through the first level

Welcome Back to 2007 Part II is a strange, scrappy little platformer that fully embraces its own absurdity. Developed and published by Siberian Mouse, the game aims to recreate the spirit of mid-2000s indie and amateur platformers—those days when janky physics, bizarre humor, and edgy teenage aesthetics lived side by side without self-consciousness. Rather than polishing away that era’s rough edges, the game leans into them. From its intentionally crude character designs to its chaotic soundtrack and tongue-in-cheek enemy roster, it functions almost like a time capsule from a period when creativity often outweighed refinement. Whether this works depends heavily on what the player expects, but there’s no denying the game has a distinct identity. You play as “Emo Boy,” a protagonist who embodies a caricature of 2007 internet subculture, complete with exaggerated angst and a set of abilities as ridiculous as they are amusing. He shoots “emo tears” as projectiles, uses cigarettes as fuel for his jetpack, and battles an array of enemies ripped straight out of old forum memes—goths, chavs, weeaboos, haters, and even villainous grandmothers.
