Pitiri 1977 is an adventure-platformer with much exploration in both world and story, and is paying tribute to its classic pioneers – not only by its gameplay, but also by its background story. A narrative, that is set in 1977 (the glorious year of Star Wars IV, the Atari 2600, the Voyager One spacecraft & Led Zeppelin's “Presence”), in an imposing world, created by using hand-painted graphics, characters, solid physics and a 1970s soundtrack, gradually opened up by the player’s acquired abilities.
You play as a kid with supernatural powers, whose brother has been kidnapped by an unknown evil. On your quest to get your brother back, you venture through a twisted 70s science fiction utopia that lies beyond the known…

If you are a GenXer with fond memories of all the weird, low budget sci-fi films that were made in the 1970s, then I think there is enough here to recommend, despite the clunky and somewhat frustrating controls. This game is clearly a case of the developers being better artists than programmers, and while it is rough around the edges from a technical standpoint, the artwork and music make it worth playing, at least for me.1 found this helpful

Nothing really special about this platformer. You may find enjoyment if this is your favorite genre and you've played through all the good ones, but this is not the one to play if you're looking for good platformers.
The game is broken. I played it thru twice and got more bugs the second time around. Apparentely, the "flags" aren't coded properly so I can't pick up the next powerup to continue the game. Also, there's this one collectible that requires a very difficult jump and if you fail, it's a 10+ minute round trip to try again.
Short and rather buggy Pros: 1. OK graphics 2. Decent story 3. Few very simple puzzles and even a boss fight Cons: 1. Poor hitboxes 2. Clunky controls 3. You can get stuck and unable to move Neutral: 1. Special abilities that add some variety, yet their mechanics are so simplified, that in reality they don't change much, with the clumsy controls they can even be frustrating. To sum up I wouldn't go as far as to discourage playing the game, but I certainly would not recommend it either. There are many better alternatives. This title just lacks the polish to make it enjoyable.
