Whirlight – No Time To Trip, an extraordinary point-and-click adventure that pushes the boundaries of imagination.
Hector is weird. His brilliance is matched only by his misfortune, and so his every creation turns out to be a failure. But just when his creative streak seems to have run out, his most amazing idea ever knocks on his door. To finish his new invention, Hector will have to explore the suggestive Verice Bay. However, right on the verge of achieving his goal, more trouble arises: what was supposed to be the solution to all his problems turns out to be a leap into the unknown. Fortunately this leads him to meeting Margaret, a strong and determined artist and a perfect travelling companion. Together they will embark on a series of adventures through space and time, amidst bizarre characters and unlikely situations, until they foil an imminent threat that looms over the entire world.

I wanted to like this game, but I ended up being frustrated almost the entire time. I saw multiple reviews of people quitting almost immediately, but an equal amount of people giving positive reviews telling how "it gets better later". tldr - no it doesn't. The biggest problem is the puzzles (youknow... the thing that makes this genre what it is?). They're rarely based on logic and mostly come down to trying every inventory item on every object until something finally works. The game almost never gives you enough context to figure things out naturally. A good point and click adventure nudges you in the right direction through dialogue, character comments, or environmental storytelling. Here, you're mostly left wandering between locations, clicking on everything, and hoping you've missed the one interaction that lets you continue. Instead of feeling clever when you solve a puzzle, it feels like you finally stumbled into the correct answer. NOT ONCE did any of the puzzles make me go "Ahaaa!" But the majority of them did make me go "Unnghh...". The story doesn't help either.
