Chronautical is built around the idea of moving forward and backwards through time to solve a narrative mystery, talking and interacting with people to see how they change in time due to your actions. Fall in love with the mysterious stranger who saved your life and discover the secrets of time travel by piecing together the Great Machine, previously known only in myths. Visit the different locations and time periods in whatever order you decide to create unique experiences from player to player.
In the Prologue you play as Alistair, an enigmatic man desperately trying to save a planet from destruction, and ultimately save the whole universe. When all else fails, he resolves to pass on his research to someone he can trust. But retrieving his research will be no easy feat.

A very short prologue with the basic VN mechanics and little gameplay. The beginning of the story occurs when your planet is being obliterated. You and your robot friend start the time-travel protocol and then decide to alter the course of history. Time travel isn't as thrilling as it sounds. You have three options and can visit them in any year between 3921 and 3930. The locations remain the same year after year, with the exception of a few characters who shift locations. The goal is to jump around time, chat to relevant individuals to learn new things, and then use that knowledge to talk some more. People don't have much to say, and much of it is irrelevant to progress. Significant piece of information is highlighted in the timeline menu. Since the game acts as a prologue to something bigger, you can finish it in less than an hour.3 found this helpful
Great little prologue. The setting and character designs were wonderful to look at and the time travel mechanic was a lot of fun to mess around with. There were some minor dialogue issues I encountered but nothing game breaking, all that happened was that some of the information provided in the timeline menu was not provided fully. I am looking forward to when the rest of the game releases and wishes the studio good luck.2 found this helpful
