About Wings of Glass 玻璃の羽

Mayfly, a girl with glass wings, is kidnapped by Ferace, a giant demon. Ferace rips off the wings that define her, but loses Mayfly to a cave. She is weak and scared. Dangers lie before and ahead of her. Be careful, stealthy, and smart to survive. She'll need to find her wings to get home.

A big Thank You to DRWolf for voicing the main antagonist, and Naoya Sakamata for the Japanese Localization!

✦ AI summary

Wings of Glass is praised for its beautiful art direction, unique world design, and charming atmosphere with a solid soundtrack, though opinions on difficulty vary. However, players consistently criticize the game for feeling incomplete—it's relatively short, ends abruptly with a "To Be Continued" message four years later, has minimal story and poorly translated lore, and suffers from unclear level design with overly dark environments that make interactive objects hard to identify. Additionally, the protagonist's moveset lacks smooth combo potential and the control scheme feels awkward in plac

Wings of Glass is a complete overhaul of the developers older game "Glass Wing" I believe. Its a very beautiful platformer, build in a unique world. Theres no handholding, so figuring out environmental hazards is up to you, but there was nothing I would consider hard.

Yeah, I can't recommend this mainly because it feels like a really long demo rather than a full game. While there are enjoyable platforming challenges and Zelda-esque environmental puzzles, it's all over too quickly to really eave much of an impact on you. No only that, but even while I was playing the game, I felt that Mayfly's moveset needed work as she has a lot of good moves but can't really chain them together. The one section that could qualify as a boss encounter is also a nightmare of confused ideas. Story is virtually none to speak of, and the lore feels somewhat poorly translated and like it adds up to nothing. Plus, the game just kind of ends, once you get your last wing back and escape the boss, and leaves you off with a To Be Continued sign. Now that it's been 4 years since the last update on that sequel, I think there's practically no chance of that happening. Back when Glass Wing was practically the only 3D Platformer on the system, I could see it being worth buying, but so many years later and so many platformers introduced in the meantime, this most recent incarnation of the game hasn't much room to stand on. Only pick it up if you're deadly curious and it's on sa…

At the very start of the game. I could see a potential so I took my time at the hub. It is also used as a menu. I was charmed by the music just from first few notes. I also adored somehow-nostalgic good-old Unity design. I mistakenly changed my dubs English to Japanese and i'm convinced myself this is the best version of the main antagonist. It all started marvelous. Hub was pretty chill and i thought i would have to turn back here and do some inventory management and stuff since i had no clue what the game was about i imagined the hub as Majula from Dark Souls 2 which is a comfy place you sometimes come back to chill and level up your character. Even the music is similiar though. I see that as a missed oppurtunity. The opening was too long. Slowly walking under some platforms or idly walking while the demon was talking was genious for a few seconds but it gets boring after that. It could be some kind of a tutorial area which you could atleast learn platforming 101 without really using your brain while listening to a pretty long monologue. But still, It all started well. Sadly, it gets boring after a few areas. Same assets have been used again and again. The opening made me see a…

It's like a puzzle game crossed with a precision platformer, where the puzzle is to find which objects are interactive when the screen is way too dark, and the platforming is more luck than precision. With some bonus immortal enemies that like to knock you down, then stand on you so you get knocked around again as soon as you stand up, and a handful of trial-and-error controls and a few jumpscares.
