I had so many fond memories of playing this game's Demo on repeat on my 3DS as a kid. Recently stumbled across it on Steam and I knew it was time to finally play it for real. "Witch and Hero" is quite a simple game on the surface, given the premise being that you can only control half of your crew, but you'd be surprised at the amount depth the game develops with its resource management and timing later on. That said, the game's start is a bit weak, a few of the big mechanics are unlocked along the course of the Campaign which makes the combat a bit plain for the first few stages, though this might've been more noticeable because I played through the game twice for 100%. Another downside is the Campaign's very inconsistent difficulty curve. You'll work through 3-4 stages like usual and then the next will completely overwhelm you, requiring you to go back and grind the last stage for a considerable amount of time for a good few upgrades, but the next few stages after that will be a breeze again. Lovely small game with neat idea. Overstays it’s welcome due to need for grinding gold for upgrades. Buy cheap for few hours of fun.

i wish this game had cloud saving on steam one of my most favorite games and still is it was originally on the Nintendo DS i wish that steam would add the other titles from the series i would buy them in a heartbeat.
