You... and who else?

I mean it's fine conceptually but it needed far more polish and care. As it is now there is hardly any story and thus hardly any reason to care about anything you're doing. It all just boils down to extremely repetitive gameplay for no payout. It could have been a wonderful game if you were given some story inbetween fights, some cutscenes after major events, anything. There just isn't much here and it's terribly boring because of it.

And now, for something different but still featuring the Aldorlea appeal. This is an excellent strategy game featuring a lot of decision making and troop management that very quickly becomes one of those "just one more level, one more try" affairs. It begins simply enough as the hero is sent out to discover the meaning of the new monster unrest disturbing the land. New party members are met quickly, then you can go to a wide variety of areas to see what might be in the areas (denoted by flags) There is exploring to do to reveal all the secrets to be found and the story itself holds things together as you move forward. It would be easy to overlook or bypass this one, but if you just give it a bit of time, you just might find yourself in a very interesting strategy game that will draw you in with all its features that are, as they say, easy to learn but difficult to master. Recommended.

Unfortunately the writing here just feels like a huge miss. I tried to get into it and just failed.

I guess I bought this by accident. I thought it was an RPG...not an tactical game with micro-management.
