"Zenith Realms" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in Germany. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The student homework assignment from May last year was to make a console game then publish it on PC instead of consoles. It's a simple top down adventure puzzle game... you know the kind, go stand on the pressure plate to make the bridge pop up, bla blah. Like a lot of student projects, and this is the key problem, this feels unfinished, is clunky, and …2 found this helpful
Very short puzzle game, although the puzzles are honestly not even puzzles since they're so simple. Encountered a few bugs, but pushed through. Good graphics and its free, but I wouldn't really recommend playing this unless you're just here for the achievements.
a cozy yet ambitious puzzle-adventure game that blends heartfelt storytelling with intricate exploration. While it shines in atmosphere and emotional depth, it struggles with technical polish and pacing.
Zenith Realms, Genuinely was, a really enjoyable, short puzzle game, with a beautifully crafted world, that kept me engaged from start to finish, I really wished there was more here, as I found myself wanting to explore more of what this world had to offer. However there are some issue's I experienced when playing through, the main and most annoying problem was the bug's, the main one I ran into, prevented me from completing the game, by not allowing the rocks to change to the correct shape, I finally got it to work after replaying the whole game for the fourth time! Which seems to be the only fix for the problem! Overall I would still say it's worth playing, especially if the bugs get sorted! Solid 6/10
Game breaking bugs galore, softlocked in the first 15 seconds of gameplay. No save mechanic. Don't play.
In it's whole, a pretty colorful and relaxing puzzle game with a cute world and character. There are also good music and a bit of lore that you can explore. However there are a few problems. First off, the way the character moves is a bit weird, It's fast and fluid most of the time but as soon as you get too close to a barrier (a place that blocks you because you aren't supposed to go) your character suddenly stop or move way more slowly to the point where you can get stuck and have to start a new game. Which leads me to the second problem, there are absolutely no possibilities to save. And despite the game being short which mean that technically you can do it in one go, it's still problematic for when you have a bug which forces you to do everything again. Then, in the puzzle of the rocks that you have to move to get the two fruits, there is apparently a chance to have one of the rock bugging ang not moving a certain way which is ESSENTIAL to complete this part, and once again if that happens: you start everything again. It happened to me and when I searched for solutions as for why I couldn't complete this puzzle, I learnt that apparently this one is a frequent bug. So the gam…
