Morphine is an independent first-person adventure that places psychological storytelling ahead of conventional action, using surreal environments and disturbing memories to explore the troubled life of an eighteen-year-old student. Developed and published by Kerim Kumbasar, it is presented as a story-driven cinematic FPS, although anyone expecting a traditional shooter should adjust those expectations. Combat and first-person mechanics contribute to the experience, but the real emphasis is on exploration, atmosphere, emotional discomfort, and witnessing events that shaped the protagonist's damaged perception of the world. The story centers on a young man who has spent much of his life feeling ignored, isolated, and bullied by others. Rather than simply explaining his experiences through lengthy exposition, the game takes the player into his past and gradually reveals the dramatic incidents that continue to affect him. His apparent retreat into a personal utopia becomes particularly important because reality, memory, and subconscious imagery begin to overlap. This gives the narrative an intentionally uncertain quality where environments can feel less like physical locations and mor…

This old game has subpar optimization—yet I played through it even as my PC’s PCH temperature hovered above 90°C. Its story carries profound weight. Undoubtedly, the male protagonist lies at the core of this tragedy, a vivid illustration of the adage “a pitiable man is bound to have his faults.” As an outsider, my judgment may feel trivial—I cannot truly descend into the abyss of his psyche or measure every ounce of despair he endured. The world around him was cold and cruel: the malicious squeezing of peers, no one truly willing to “see” his pain (or rather, no one had the capacity or willingness to interpret his silent plea for help). This reminds me of Frankl’s observations in the concentration camps: the deepest suffering often stems from the utter annihilation of meaning and the complete rupture of connection. I understand the weight of despair—“I once wanted to die.” Who hasn’t etched with them a shattering setback, a moment of being torn apart? Trauma is a universal human condition. Yet the core of existentialism lies in this: though circumstances shape us, how we respond to them defines our essence. The male lead’s abyss of bullying is suffocating, but as Heidegger might ar…

Found this game when I was browsing a guide for steam badges. Thought it looked interesting until I played it. Plays terribly, lighting is horrible and overall you feel boxed in. I could even walk through walls. If you're a masochist buy it.

This game is pretty poor overall, wonky character animation where his arms don't even move, looks like he's being walked by puppet strings. The game is slow and visually muddy, poor option control, language option in options menu is cutoff. I'm giving this a negative review for both being technically shoddy, not being scary as advertised, and being a waste of your time. Multiple achievements are tied to braindead RNG finding an item in a haystack and I'm just not sitting here another hour because whoever designed this game had no idea what they're doing, stop putting achievements in these terrible asset flips to be impossible RNG crap to artifically extend the playtime for your terrible videogames. Do not waste money on this, not worth your time or effort and a BORING waste of your time. I tried to get slightly further in the game, went through the most boring and ugly outdoor camping sequence ever, as you SLOWLY look for rocks and debris to build a fire, can't see anything, game won't tell you where to go, wandering and wandering at night with no hint of where to go and I officially don't care anymore, the game doesn't even have the courtesy of proofreading the English script bec…
