Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my VR gameplay & impressions here: https://youtu.be/SNmI9TqgtlY I don't think this is a bad game, but it's not really my jam either. This is basically Gorilla Tag style movement mixed with Mario Kart type racing (mixed with some climbing / obstacle course). You have the basic left and right arm swing to the ground that propels you forward. There's a certain cadence to it in order to get to maximum speed. You can also pound both arms to the ground to get a high jump. You also have a rocket boost to help you jump across platforms. You also climb ladders and certain areas and get on the rail zip lines. There's also Mario Kart style boosts / debuffs to overcome enemies or take them down. You can play single player in 3 race circuits against AI opponents (10 contestants total) or do one track at a time in the time trials where your only goal is to get the best time. Unfortunately, the online multiplayer is currently limited to a group of friends. There is no way to race others in a lobby, so no PUGs or strangers. You must have friends with VR, who are online, and who also own this game. Good luck with getting a group of 10 frie…

As everyone else has said before: This game is what it would be like to play Mario Kart in VR. The movement feels great for the most part, tho I find myself struggling with ladders if you can believe it. The game *tries* to help with it, but I believe the climbing assist makes it harder to actually grab where you want to. Maybe adding a toggle for friend lobbies to turn power ups on and off could be beneficial for a lot of people (Including me, I'd rather beat my friends fair than with a well timed power up. Which the tutorial didn't tell me existed either btw. I found that out when I ran my first cup.) For the devs: It may be worth to re-do the climbing mechanic, instead of forcing the hand to attach somewhere on the ladder or pipe itself, make it one larger climbing hitbox that encapsulates the prop. Would make climbing feel a lot better. Not being able to really fling off of ladders as well makes it feel sluggish.

It’s Mario Kart in VR, what a blast! The races combine speed, jumps, power-ups like in Mario Kart, and climbing, which makes them really fun. You move using your hands, kind of like Gorilla Tag, but it’s different: moving around is easier and faster. When you chain several jumps together, you get into a flow and keep gaining more and more speed. I really like it :)

If you've ever played Gorilla Tag and wondered, "How fast am I actually?", this is basically the game that lets you find out. The easiest way to describe Vertigo Rush is Gorilla Tag movement mixed with Mario Kart-style racing, but the locomotion feels much more polished and specifically designed around racing. Once you start getting the hang of the movement, the parkour feels incredible. It's extremely immersive. Technically you can move very fast without making huge movements with your arms, but when you're fighting for a better time or trying to overtake someone, you inevitably start putting more and more energy into it. I usually end up sweating after playing, so as a bonus, it's actually a pretty great cardio workout. I really liked that this game isn’t just an online sandbox, but also has a solid single-player experience. I've especially enjoyed the Time Trial mode. Trying to shave another second off your best time becomes really addictive, and you can clearly feel yourself improving as you learn the shortcuts, climbing sections, rails and the fastest way through each part of the track. The races against bots are also a lot of fun because of the power-ups. Having another r…
