Played On: HTC Vive
RoadRunner VR is just what its name suggests; you run down a never-ending road in VR. You do this automatically, while using the left and right buttons on the trackpad to move back and forth to collect gems, rockets, hearts, and jetpacks. The gems only add to your total score, the hearts restore your health if you've hit an object, and the rockets can blast obstacles out of your way or be used to shoot down the occasional UFO that comes by to scoop up the gems. I never found a use for the jetpacks, if there is one then the game doesn't tell you how to use it and none of the buttons I pressed activated it. Even though it says that you can physically move to change lanes, I didn't find that any amount of movement changed my position on the screen; I was still able to get hit by things and pick up items by leaning left and right, though. It's a broken release, and it has very little content. It might be good for a kid, but there's still better out there.
Rating: 0.5/5.0 - Abysmal, avoid it like the plague.
The VR Network Curator | [url=https://steamcommunity…3 found this helpful
A simple but really enjoyable game. You can play standing and dodge the hazards by moving around or if you are a bit lazy you can play seated and use the controller to move left and right. I found the seated method a bit violent to begin with but I soon got used to it. The artwork is great, good job Hot Knife. The game play is addictive - think Temple Run with knobs on. The ability to continue if you have colected enough jewls is a real get out of jail free card and motivates you to colect as many as you can. I really like blasting away at the aliens with my rockets, which becomes second nature after a few plays. Definately worth the money and much more enjoyable to play than some bigger games.
