Radial-G : Racing Revolved

I bought this game strictly off the basis of it being a VR racing game and the reviews being "mostly positive". I am honestly not sure if those reviewers even played the same game as I did. Every track looks the same and the action is nowhere near as exciting as the trailer and screenshots would have you suggest. Save your money and get GRIP instead.

A solid futuristic racer with a decent amount of content for the price.

Decent, but not much else. F-Zero fans thirsting for something novel, look elsewhere. If there's a lesson to be gained from this game, it's that making a game like this requires a lot more polish and attention to detail than you'd expect. Nothing feels "right" enough, here, and for this kind of Breakout-esque title, if that feeling isn't there, not much else is - not even the odd feeling of spectacle from the good background design and general graphical fidelity makes it worthwhile. The tubular tracks, also, seem misguided, and not all that interesting to play through or look at. For a time this was, essentially, one of very few F-Zero-likes out on PC, and sadly it doesn't do the concept much justice. Seek Redout instead.

I got to play this awesome game at EGX Rezzed, great visuals, fast speeds and great leader board information. It`s a sharp, additive, arcade racer in the tradition of F-Zero or Wipeout. It’s clearly been built with the Rift in mind and is all the better for it. It’s clear that there’s talent at work here, with the best parts from Wipeout and F-Zero method into one satisfactory demo that comes alive through the Rift headset. Very good game to show off VR at EGX too and one for the my top best games of 2015.
