Wings of Vi is a challenging 2D action platformer that places precision, persistence, and mechanical mastery at the center of the experience. Developed and published by Grynsoft, the game follows Vi, an angel who sets out to confront the Demon Lord Jeh’oul after his escape from captivity. What begins as a straightforward pursuit soon becomes an exhausting journey through dangerous fantasy environments populated by monsters, deadly traps, demanding platforming sections, and imposing bosses. The story provides enough motivation to keep the adventure moving, but the real attraction is the escalating sequence of challenges that constantly asks the player to improve. The game is deliberately difficult, yet its approach to difficulty is more thoughtful than simply filling stages with unpredictable traps. Wings of Vi generally wants players to see the danger, understand what needs to be done, and then develop the skill necessary to execute it. Mistakes frequently result in death, making repeated attempts an unavoidable part of progression. This creates a cycle in which failure becomes a form of practice. Movement is clunky. Combat is boring. It's essentially a rage game disguised as a cute plataformer. While the difficulty isn't *unfair*, playing the same 10 seconds of gameplay over and over gets old really fast.

This is a great game for it's time, but do not be mistaken - It has aged poorly in terms of quality of life features and it has plenty of bugs that detract from the games overall great vibe. That being said, do not worry about feeling frustrated about the platforming, as once you solve most puzzles and timings, they are straightforward. But the paired with inconsistent respawning and often respawns into clips walls and moving platforms.. well it becomes a exercise in if the game will function properly. That aside, I do however, look forward to part 2 as there is plenty to improve upon and even more so to be excited for.

It's an IWBTG-like, and it's not crazy good, but it's alright. That being said, they lost me when they gave me an object to "teleport to the past". I went to some earlier path that I hadn't explored. Went through an entire level only to find out at the end that I can't proceed because it's the past. I'm 100% mad. Ok, fine. I swallowed my anger and went back in.

It's a decent precision platformer, easier than some I've played, though I didn't get very far. I liked these games 7 years ago when I bought it. Now I don't have the patience for this crap and a little more respect for my time I suppose. So I got sick of it pretty quickly. Some negatives: It's tough at times to tell what is the background and what is a barrier, what you can jump through or not. It doesn't feel good to play. You have a jump, attack and action button, and from what I've seen, all techniques to survive utilize the action button. You get a float which begs to just act like a double jump, but you gotta use the action button. Then you get a slide that is down plus action. So when you have to use the slide and float in quick succession, a lot of times it doesn't work and I'll float instead of slide. Would be a lot more fun if they used more buttons, or at least had the option to for those using controllers. But the game is 100% designed around this control scheme...just a pity its lousy. But if you like tedious, do the same part 100 times and hope you get the right button input in to millisecond precision, I expect you'll enjoy this. There's also three difficulties,…
