The Brevon fight made me quit the game. All the other bosses, fine. They were a bit of challenge. But I overcame them. But Brevon? The brevon fight broke me. Brevon is more like a Dark Souls boss than a freedom planet boss. Deleting the game from my Library and I will not be buying Fredom Planet 2. I regret buying this game.

I never got into sonic but I now understand why people got into sonic. THIS ISN'T SONIC, THIS IS A TOTALLY ORIGINAL CHARACTER! People should really get their facts straight. The gameplay is great, the voice acting is great, the art is great and there's a story as well!

Really good platformer game, played the sequel first and still had a good time with this one.

Freedom Planet is easily one of the best 2D platformers I've ever played and does a fantastic job building on the foundation laid by Sonic the Hedgehog. The gameplay, music, and level design are all incredible, standing toe-to-toe with its influences. The addition of difficulty options is also a welcome change as someone who found Sonic games to be too easy sometimes. The only things holding Freedom Planet back from being perfect are the frequent instances of lag/dropped frames and the execution of the story. I'm willing to overlook the story considering how good the gameplay is, though. I appreciate the devs gave it a shot, but TBH, the dialogue came off as tropey and cheesey, with the story being mostly forgettable. However, the performance issues really aren't excusable given this is a game built on a 20-year-old engine and my PC goes above and beyond the minimum system requirements. It didn't matter if I had V-sync or G-sync on or off, I was experiencing lag and dropped frames at least once per level, usually more. All things considered, Freedom Planet is still an easy 9/10 and a must-play for Sonic the Hedgehog fans.

I'll be completely honest, this game is one of the best 2D platformers I have ever played. The story is alright, but the movesets for each character, however, are absolutely amazing. Adding moves to attack enemies definitely makes this game more original than being a downright Sonic the Hedgehog fan-game.
milla's playthrough was absolutely grueling tho, so play it if u really want a challenge.
"Dragged down by the [kingdom] stOne... ...stOne....stOne...stOne...stOne...stOne...stOne...stOne...stOne..." But seriously, folks; game's brilliant fun so far. The music's incredible, the artstyle and aesthetic of the game are super fun, and the story's compelling. I'll update my review once I finish it, but so far: way cool!
