If you've ever wondered what Flappy Bird might be like if it had handcrafted levels set to music and a bespoke artistic direction, Odium to the Core is a game you might want to check out. Though to be clear, while the camera, scrolling and various gameplay elements are synced to the music, this is not a rhythm game in any conventional sense as far as your inputs are concerned. Speaking of inputs, while I did compare the game to Flappy Bird insofar as as it's a one button autoscroller where you avoid hazards, you have much finer continuous control over your acceleration in this game as opposed to discrete jumps or flaps, though of course the flip side is the game also demands increasing precision especially later on. Precision, and occasionally some memorisation. It's really not an easy game, expect to die and retry a lot unless you're very skilled at this kind of thing. The game does try to keep things relatively varied by introducing level mechanics, most notable and challenging by far being the gravity inversion fields. I like the aesthetic too. Also worth noting the soundtrack consists primarily (though not exclusively) of Drum 'n Bass and occasionally dips into Neurofunk and g…

The Core might be one of the worst levels I have ever played. The hit box problems aren't an issue for most of the game, but in this specific level, they are terrible. This level alone makes the game awful and a miserable experience.

This game is really good, and fun, for someone who plays stuff like Geometry Dash. {Note that i have like 20 more hours of playtime, i used to play this game on Xbox}. Looks really cool, the music is a banger {Sometimes a little repetitive but thats not a very big issue for me}, very sad how little people have played this before. i really like the "obstacles make the music" thing you did and how much variation in obstacles there are. Now the unfortunate thing is that this game just. has never really updated for like 6 years. And not a lot of levels are very fun to replay, so there's not a lot of stuff to do if you don't wanna spend 15 hours completing nightmare mode levels. it would be SO awesome if you guys added a level editor, but if that's too hard, even just some bonus levels that you could unlock with certain achievements would be cool. For example, beating the final level, completing 3 nightmare mode levels, and getting 10 skins. But really anything that adds more fun stuff to do would be so nice. {Really hoping that a dev sees this lol...} P.S. if a dev does by some miracle see this and add a level editor, 1. you're the best 2. please add the normal levels as editable on…

better than geometry dash

A frenetic, tough-as-nails, “just one more try” kind of flow-state inducing thrill-ride, that takes a page from Nintendo’s book and teaches you by letting you fail on your own terms. With a built-in difficulty modifier (secrets) which you can either ignore or go for to challenge yourself. Knowing the developers made this rhythm side-scroller backwards (music first then the levels) makes me admire their output all the more. Such a fun, vigorously awesome little gem of a game, with a killer soundtrack to boot. Has the white-knuckle, edge-of-your-seat kind of gameplay loop, the highs and lows, the hold your breath moments of fear and release and triumphant success of all the best challenging games. The Dark Souls of side-scrollers (haha). With enough inventiveness to make Mario's Odyssey blush. What these guys have done with such a simple concept is simply amazing!
