You can light up the dungeon with 3 playable characters 
As you finish level you will have to chose between droping down to next level, fighting a boss or taking a short stop at the shop. With each level lower the dificulty will increase, new enemies will spawn and there will appear enviromental dangers like fire/spike traps or arrows dispensers.
You can also play in Endless mode killing vawes of enemies and upgrading yourself to withstand next round.
Fight your way to the bottom of the dungeon and defeat the darkness once and for all.

Core of Darkness is a free to play 2.5D top down retro brawler/shooter with a fantasy/dungeon theme. Gameplay consists of running around from a top down view and brawling/shooting monsters, collecting inventory items/skill upgrades, and advancing by killing bosses and so on. The graphics quality is quite poor here, but it is leaps and bounds over your usual 2D retro pixel shovelware. The developer even added some graphics tweaks and full 4K UHD support. The core problem is more with the general gameplay being somewhat uninspired, and the graphics, while 3D, are a bit of a let down (the screenshots show it, your character is just a black circle with a slightly larger concentric black circle around it). The game also lacks content, as samey, repetitive procgen algorithms were used instead of hand crafted level design, story and plot progression. Developers must be aware that procgen is not an acceptable substitute for content. The game is completely free. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration. Dungeons, enemies, traps. But this is not enough, the attempt to create a normal game failed. Bad game.
