Men of War: Red Tide

I've probably played most of the Men of War games back in the late 2000s and early 2010s. It has always been one of my favorite RTS series. Unfortunately, this is by far the weakest entry. The gameplay and mission design are noticeably worse than in the other games, and the story feels rushed, disjointed, and incomplete It's also probably the only game in the series that starts with a cringe-worthy commie propaganda video. On top of that, much of the campaign is filled with heavy-handed lefist propaganda, as well as strange mockery and exaggerated caricatures of Romanians or Italians. Unlike the other games in the series, where you could play campaigns from different sides without being constantly lectured by politics or propaganda, this one feels far more focused on pushing an agenda than on delivering a good strategy game. If you're looking for the classic Men of War experience, I'd recommend playing almost any other entry in the series instead but if you're a leftie, you'll probably enjoy it

Fulqrum. You ruined all your goodwill and trust as a developer and publisher just for this? For some Steam point store AI slop for a seventeen year old game? You can't just hack something out using a screenshot or get an artist to slam something out? You have to use GenAI to come up with it? Seriously, shame on all of you.

Men of War: Red Tide is one of the most underrated entries in the franchise. While it doesn't introduce revolutionary gameplay changes, it delivers one of the richest and most rewarding single-player campaigns in the entire series. Rather than revisiting the usual World War II battles, the game follows the legendary Soviet Naval Infantry—the Black Coats—through more than twenty missions spanning the Black Sea campaigns and the final offensives of the war. The historical setting feels fresh, and the sheer variety of objectives keeps the campaign engaging from beginning to end. The core Men of War formula is as brilliant as ever. Every soldier, vehicle, weapon, and shell matters, rewarding careful planning, smart resource management, and tactical improvisation. The series' signature Direct Control mechanic remains one of the best features ever introduced in a tactical RTS, allowing you to take manual control of any unit whenever precision matters most. Tady je to hlavně o stylu hry – člověk může hrát buď klasicky strategicky jako v Sudden Strike, nebo, když je hračička, tak jako v Commandos.Každá jednotka má svůj vlastní inventář, takže člověk může rabovat jako vzteklý a libovolně kombinovat zbraně a výbavu. Můžete zabrat vozidlo, opravit ho, odtáhnout dělo a prostě se svobodně rozhodnout, jakým stylem misi odehrajete. Naprosto super jsou obranné pasáže, kdy vám dochází munice a vy musíte šacovat mrtvoly a zoufale hledat každý náboj. Sidor Artěmovič Kovpak by vám o tom mohl vyprávět!Není nic lepšího, než když nepřátelskou zbraň otočíte proti nim. Mít v inventáři Mosin-Nagant s 30 náboji a jedním Molotovem je sice fajn, ale obrat nepřítele a přivlastnit si MG34 s granátem M24, nebo dokonce Geballte Ladung? Tak to už v zákopu nebo v opevnění zafouká úplně jináčí vítr!
