About Legend of Moros
Main Features:
Characters: There are over 12 characters that will join you on your journey. The main character does not have to be in the active party, which results in 1000+ potential party combinations!
Storyline: A carefully written storyline that is equal parts dramatic and humorous. NPC's and sidequests help to increase the player's understanding of the world outside of the main quest.
Original Assets: Custom animations, tilesets, music, and monsters help to set a unique tone and aesthetic for the world.
Gameplay: A tactical combat system that rewards proper execution of both individual character tactics and the overall team strategy. Select one of three difficulty settings to choose from for this 30-40 hour adventure.
Sidequest driven: Apart from the main story, NPC's or objects may start a potential sidequest. The player is free to choose whether or not to take these missions, but there are rewards for them, as well as helping to learn about the other character's motivations. There is also no time limit for completing a sidequest, but certain sidequest bosses may grow stronger if you choose to progress through certain points of the main story.
Equipment: Equipment has been simplified. As opposed to many separate pieces of armor and multiple hand slots, characters each have a few different and unique weapons that do most of the modifications to statistics. In many games, weapons get progressively better as you make progress. In Legend of Moros, there are always benefits and drawbacks. A weapon may have a high critical hit rate, but poor defenses, for example. You can also equip one weapon mod (to change your basic attack's element, or to give a chance for a status effect), one seal (which lets your character use a skill they otherwise couldn't), and two accessories (status resistance, extra attack power, health regeneration, and so on).
Unique Combat: This game uses an unusual Stamina system. As opposed to games where spellcasters use MP and everyone else is just attacking, Stamina is consumed by a character whenever they use a skill or spell.
But that's just using another name for a resource, and this is still a turn-based game. How is that different?
Each character can set a certain Tactic; this allows them to gain Stamina whenever certain criteria are met. Which do you prefer: having your main healer regain Stamina whenever they heal someone, or whenever a party member takes damage? While each option covers multiple criteria (so you could have both of these), there are many different ways each character can be used. While RPGs have tended toward more of an action and reflexive skillset as time has gone on, I have tried to make this the epitomy of a strategy RPG.
There's a large and interesting cast of characters, and for the vast majority of the game, you can choose to have any four characters that you've found in the active party. If you don't like the main character, you can swap them out very early on. Also, at the beginning of the game, you are able to pick the difficulty you'd like to play on. (You can also press F1 on the keyboard to check/edit controls, if need be.)

Okay, to start I should mention that I played this game in beta before it was on Steam, so I probably have about 10-15 hours logged total. I have not yet beaten the game. I'll try to give an honest mostly non-biased review. Since I have a preference and style of games I like (as I assume everyone does), I will try to push that aside for this review. It should be noted that this game wasn't delvoped by a team or company, it was made by one man over the course of a few years. That alone should count for something. But I digress... To start, lets talk about the obvious. Yes it looks like crap. The graphics are pretty barren and old. It really does leave much to be desired. But if you judge a game solely on it's looks then you'll miss out on a hell of a lot of treasures! The game shouldn't be played for looks alone.. or at all. The game should be played for the story, much like any RPG. The story is good, it's not amazing but it's not trash either. It has a unique perspective and moves at a reasonable pace. There are a few times where I personally felt the story was dragging a bit, but I think the plot unfolds well enough and the over all arch of the story suits the game. The chara…12 found this helpful
OKAY. Since two particlular people decided to be angry at my generic review I posted I decided to edit this. I beta tested this game starting over a year ago, so I don't have a lot of game time on Steam because I have restarted and played this game multiple times as did several other people. I enjoyed this game for what it is. It doesn't have a lot, but it's a 5$ game. If you do all of the side missions and grind like you are suppose to, then you can get a good amount of hours into the game. The graphics arent the best from what you can see in the screenshots, but if you look past it I can recommend this game. If you like the retro style RPG type of games then I think you will have fun. The characters I feel are likeable and it has it's silly moments so you get the occasional laugh here and there. The combat gets your gear turning meaning you can't just spam attack every battle. If you do that then it will get you killed. You have a good selection of different characters so you can make some pretty interesting combos if you plan it out right. If you can't get past the graphics, don't buy it. If you can, then I would recommend this nice little game to people.7 found this helpful
While probably everyone who has played this game would come to the agreement that it isn't the most visually stunning experience, I think it's safe to say that if you dive a bit deeper into the gameplay aspect, the graphics almost don't matter anymore. The fights are quite engaging, even though the fighting-system is a bit hard to understand at first, but what's really interesting about this game is the story, which is quite enjoyable and how the world seems alive, even though there isn't much visual input in this direction. So I'd definetely recommend this to anyone out there who is willing to overlook the poor visuals of a game and is on the search for a retro-indie experience.2 found this helpful

This is a competently written yet fun old fashionedish JRPG style game. It has plenty of oddball humor and craziness as you attempt to find Justice and learn what has happened. The fighting mechanics and abilities are inventive and keep the game from becoming just a slog of a typical RPG grind. Unless you play in hard mode. Hard mode is... a grindfest extraordinaire. I would suggest sticking with Normal or Easy, as it has no bearing on the story. Instead of typical enemies found in these style of games they are uniquely designed and use non stock art, which is a relief from so many RPGmaker games simply using base assets. Because the enemies aren't your typical RPG fare, you have to experiment as the usual kill x by using x doesn't apply, leading to less boring fights as you learn the game. The stamina system is a nice system as well, I've not seen it used this way in very many games. The map is fun to explore and the art used different from anything else I've seen. I never felt like I got too lost, nor did I feel it was far too big. All in all it's well put together and well worth what is being asked for. Well worth playing. As for why I have so little time in t…1 found this helpful
I'm begging you, either let me run from battles, or let me disable or autowin random encounters in areas where I'm overlevelled. And maybe don't make the encounter rate so high I can literally get into a battle within two steps. And maybe have an actual map, because it's hard to find landmarks when the screen is this small.
