About The Book of Legends
The Demon of Fear, Azutura, is slowly but surely awaking because the world is increasingly being dominated by thieves, rogues and bandits. Indeed - Azutura feeds on people's fears. The solution is found and crafted by the best alchemists of the realm: a special relic whose vapors will put the Demon in a profound sleep for the next few decades or so.
A notorious traveler gifted with an extraordinary strength, Jordan, is sent to the House of Fear where the Demon lies to do the job. But the very first day of his mission, he is robbed by thieves and loses the precious relic!
'The Book of Legends' is an epic, sprawling role-playing game packed full with characters, quests, items and secrets, evocative of the greats of the genre such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Phantasy Star.

It's a game alright. Very average RPG Maker game in terms of music, story, characters, enemies, map design, and game interface. In short, it exists.3 found this helpful
The Book of Legends is the kind of RPG that feels almost defiantly rooted in an earlier era, not just in its presentation but in its philosophy. Developed and published by Aldorlea Games, it embraces the structure and pacing of classic 16-bit adventures while expanding them into something much larger in scope. It doesn’t attempt to modernize or streamline the experience; instead, it leans into length, density, and player-driven exploration, creating a game that feels less like a guided journey and more like a sprawling expedition filled with detours, discoveries, and occasional rough edges. The narrative begins with a relatively simple setup—a mission gone wrong, a lost artifact, and a looming threat tied to an ancient force—but it quickly branches outward into a multi-perspective story that shifts between characters and locations. Rather than focusing tightly on a single protagonist, the game builds its identity around a wide ensemble cast, each with their own motivations and roles in the unfolding events. This approach gives the story a sense of scale, making the world feel active and interconnected, though it can also dilute the emotional focus at times. The writing itself carr…1 found this helpful
I didn't finish the game and what I played was a lot of fun. The dialogue is quirky and unique. I liked the humor. The only complaint I had was how often you go down a path for it to only be a dead end... very often this happened and it made me want to not finish the game. It was a pretty empty world but what was there was enjoyable.
This is one of the best RPG's I've played in recent years, not graphically obviously as it's an RPG Maker game but the story, the mechanics, and most importantly the sheer vast number of heroes/recruit-able characters and their potential windows, you can easily miss someone. I bought these because I went through a phase of buying aldorlea rpgmaker games and this is one of the best i've played
