Lost in Harmony

Beautiful, mysterious and underrated gem with an arcade flair. Also, it made me cry a lot but that unfortunately is due to personal circumstances.

Lost in Harmony, developed by Digixart and published by THQ Nordic, is a rhythm-based action game that seamlessly merges music and storytelling into a deeply emotional experience. Made out of two stories, Lost in Harmony is a rhythmic game with great visuals, really fun, and at times unfair (but alright after getting used to it), gameplay that delivers a solid experience. Kaito's Adventure is the first half of the game, with a heartbreaking story told in-between levels, with the levels being shown to us as "dreams" representing the actual events in an artsy way, which made me really enjoy it as a way to tell a short and sad story. The music is also spectacular and is played awesomely in the levels, with great synchronisation with the environment and obstacles. M.I.R.A.I.'s Escape is the other half of the game, which has refined gameplay, but is full of reused ideas and somehow easier (maybe also because I got used to the gameplay at this point), different music (electro/dubstep, and it rocks!), different environments with great visuals, but with a story, if I can call it one, that's totally pointless. I loved Kaito's Adventure through and through, and M.I.R.A.I.'s Escape, although still fun and with badass music, fell short in comparison, in my opinion.

I played this game somewhere around 9 years ago and never made it past (i think) level 5-7, I'm glad I finally got to see the end to the story, they really meant a lot to me back then and still do to this day:)
